Thank you to all who attended the FoSS meeting on Tuesday evening, it was very productive!
There were many events to review, and many to plan and look forward to, including the Autumn Disco, the upcoming Bingo event, the Christmas Market, helping Santa to shop for gifts for our hardworking children, Carols around the Tree, the Christmas treats for the children (show and cinema) Christmas Hampers and the school calendar.
It is a very busy time of year for the FoSS team with coordinating the events and also fundraising, so any offer of help or donations would be much appreciated, as they say 'Many Hands make Light work!'
Please see below how you can help:
• Bottle Tombola: are you able to donate a bottle for the Bottle Tombola? This could be anything from washing up liquid to a bottle of pop!
• Pre Loved Gifts / Bric a Brac / Small toys: this will be used in bran tubs or tombolas at our future events.
• Christmas Jumpers: for Christmas events, the children are given the option of wearing Christmas Jumpers - if your child has outgrown jumpers, please hand the in at school for others to get the wear out of.
• Raffle Prizes: if your employer can donate a voucher or you can offer a gift, this will be utilised in our raffles.
• Popcorn, biscuits, juice, mulled wine and mince pies: these are required for our upcoming events, we will be purchasing these, however if anyone knows of a good contact, or can contribute towards these, then that would save us spending FoSS funds!
• Christmas Quizzes: have you somewhere that these can be sold or distributed?
• Christmas Hamper: Mellissa Bindloss will soon be collecting items that will soon be made into our annual hampers. Hamper Squares: have you somewhere that these can be sold or distributed?
• Volunteering to help at the Bingo event on Friday 17 November 6pm+.
• Volunteering to help at the FoSS table (selling hamper squares, quizzes, tea towels, calendars, bran tub, raffle), or prepare the refreshments at the Christmas Market on Saturday 25 November (can be divided into hour long shifts).
• Volunteering to make up the Christmas hampers or help Santa with his wrapping on wb Monday 11 December.
• Volunteering to serve mulled wine and mince pies at the Carols around the Tree event on Monday 18 December 5.30pm+
• School Calendar: these are going to the printers, please don't miss your opportunity to place an order with Friends of Shap School (FoSS)!
