Another interesting whisky from the Kavalan range, The Kavalan Sherry Oak dilutes Solist Sherry with Kavalan spring water to 46% strength. It is easy to drink and could be a perfect malt whisky to share with friends and family on most occasions.
It is clean and complex with multi-layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices with some marzipan and vanilla touches to it.

The Concertmaster is known for being around for many years and allowing the whisky drinker a chance to enter the core range and experience all the hype. Using Ruby Port, Tawny Port and Vintage Port casks from Portugal to finish whiskies that were initially matured in American oak. Bottled at 40% abv and bottled with no added colouring.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Tropical fruits, vanilla caramel, to***co leaf, milk chocolate, shortbread and cloves.

Palate: Red fruits, cinnamon, raisins and sultanas, oak and white pepper spice.

Dark gold with amber highlight

Nose:
Clean, subtle and elegant with that fragrant and extremely pleasant floral and sweet scent mixed with vanilla and coconut that arouses the olfactory senses.

Palate:
Subtropical fruitiness such as mango and green apple lurking in the complex background is to be perceived together with hints of honey, cherry, white pepper and grape. The finale is a long and sustainable after-taste encored over and over again. A finish to be experienced with patience. This is a malt that stirs emotions and redefines sensory perception.

The whiskies from King Car's range are always impressive expressions. These Taiwanese single malts are matured in casks that have held red and white wine, which are re-toasted before being filled with the fabulous whisky. Expect big, bold, full-bodied flavours here, folks.

In ancient times, the land around I-Lan in Taiwan was called Kavalan, a mysterious land that was solely inhabited by the indigenous people of the Kavalan clan. The name was officially recognized by the Emperor of the Chin dynasty in the year of 1809 when the original city was also built under the same name. Kavalan had always been kept primitive and protected from the outside world by the Syue-shan mountain range which is abundant in high quality natural water that comes from deep within the mountain range. The mists of and the spirits of the past have been created for you in this exquisite whisky.

This whisky was produced from barley. The spirits was distilled in Kavalan’s unique stills matured in superior-quality brandy casks. It was bottled at strength and is non chill-filtered with natural colour to retain the fullest flavours.

Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Peaches and cream, strawberry jam, freshly cut passion fruit, creamy toffee, baking spices and warm honey.

Palate: Tinned peaches, oily with dark toffee, toasted nuts and tropical fruits.

Finish: A long finish of stewed peaches, lychee and cocoa.

Lark Head Distiller Chris Thomson has taken the Tawny-dominated Classic Cask and finished it in a single Australian Tawny cask, selected from Seppeltsfield Winery in the Barossa Valley. The result is a familiar Tasmanian single malt that quickly develops into a Tawny explosion of raspberry and blackberry, perfectly balanced with creamy caramel and a light dusting of cinnamon.

Nose

Aromas of rich tawny and dark chocolate mingle with warm, homemade apple and blackcurrant crumble. Notes of old oak, leather-bound books and toffee follow.

Palate

Creamy vanilla custard with a touch of candied orange peel, followed by more rich toffee and oak.

Finish

The finish transitions from heavy notes of rich, dark fruit to airy remnants of oak and smoke, with a light dusting of cinnamon.

Matured in a combination of Bourbon, Virgin oak, Pedro Ximénez sherry and red wine casks.This smooth single malt has an elegant full taste and aroma that captures fruity, floral, spicy notes, with fascinating overtones of honey, vanilla, apples chocolate and nuts.

BenRiach's 12 Years Old Three Cask Matured whisky comes to light in Speyside, using smoked malted barley and Highland peat, following 19th century traditions. It is characterized by a maturation conducted in boubon, sherry and Marsala wine barrels. It develops in the glass with an amber color. Sweet and rich hints appear on the nose, which revolve around sensations of smoked vanilla, orange and toasted almonds. In the mouth it is full-bodied and enveloping, with references to dark chocolate, fruit peel and brown sugar, with touches of smoked oak and cocoa in the finish. Excellent to taste after dinner after having been diluted with a few drops of water.

The BenRiach Quarter Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is another interesting scotch whisky to check out.
To make Benriach Quarter Cask, Benriach spirit is first matured in bourbon barrels then undergoes a second maturation in bespoke quarter casks. These smaller casks allow more interaction between wood and spirit, intensifying maturation for depth and richness of flavour, to create layers of glazed orchard fruit and rich vanilla, finishing with notes of ripe barley and oak spice. All in perfect balance.

Another great one, the Cardhu 15 Years Old is a whisky that derives from 3 years longer aging than its younger brother 12 Years Old. A detail that gives it further complexity, a harmonious union between the fruity and spicy notes. It has the appearance of a dark golden color. The scent is softened by sensations ranging from caramel to fresh fruit, followed by pleasant notes of vanilla and dried fruit in the finish. The taste is sweet but not cloying, with a light body, with aromas of caramel and light bitter chocolate. Excellent to serve straight or on ice cubes.

Next up is the Cardhu 18 Years Old which is a whisky for connoisseurs, obtained from a maturation of 18 years in American oak barrels selected with extreme care. Discreet initially on the palate, it manifests itself slowly in a structure of great refinement and elegance. It is sweet and oily, with a fruity imprint, with a complex and dry finish.
