God’s Own Junkyard Lager by Wild Card Brewery - 4.4% Lager
🍻
So we took a Friday off to head up to Walthamstow and for some neon p**n. They had their own branded lager on site so thought it would be rude not too.
🍻
Better than a macro lager but not as good as some craft lagers I’ve had. A touch sweet for me but still with a malty backbone and a crisp finish. Perfectly drinkable but there’s better lagers out there.
🍻
And as for the neon…I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Definitely worth a visit if you are heading up that way for Blackhorse Lane…

A little West Coast trip…was just longing for that bitter hit.
🍻
First up - Drums Please from - a 7.1% West Coast IPA. Well I started off with a good one. Pithy, piney citrus bitter bomb with the longest finish I’ve had from an IPA in ages. Absolutely delicious. 4/5
🍻
Next up was Trees - an 8% West Coast DIPA from . I got pear drops initially and I feared that there may be too much sweetness but the citrus cuts through quickly and just runs and runs in a bitter finish. 3.75/5
🍻
Last up was Imperial Eagle from Brew York. Having had a couple of the other Eagles I had expectations and I wasn’t let down. This 9% DIPA hides it well in a very balanced drink. There’s caramel and biscuit in the front before a classic hoppy finish that you’d expect. Such a journey and so so tasty. Really enjoyed this one - 4.5
🍻
So it was a successful trip and a nice change up from the constant tropical haze that seems to get into every can these days. What’s your favourite West Coast IPA/Pale?
🍻
Enjoy your beers!

Always good to try a variation on 05 from in the form of this collab with and HBC 472. This one is 6.2% NEIPA.
🍺
Hazy orange in the glass, tropical and peachy on the nose, tastes the same with a touch of fruit salad sweets and maybe a touch of mint in there(?). Starts off soft, chewy and full before a long, dry and bitter finish. Full journey with this one and considering it is single hopped, there’s a lot going on.
