Invitation to Tasting »Föld« (Hungarian for soil, earth, field). A wine tasting that has never been seen before in Germany. No mainstream wines, no big names, no fancy bottles, but breathtakingly independent wines from committed winegrowers from the Czech Republic and Hungary, who hardly have a lobby, but absolutely deserve one. Committed group of winegrowers who boldly produce characterful wines with a self confident identity on small plots of land with living soils using exclusively regenerative or biodynamic cultivation methods.

The FÖLD winegrowers all present their wines in person. Most of them work in the spirit of the natural wine movement, however, they do this so knowledgeable and free of ideology that their wines are expressive and unmistakable, and truly reflect the character of their diverse soils and climates in a clean and pure way.

These are stylistically fascinatingly diverse wines that we import and present out of conviction because we consider them to be an exciting addition to the market in the high-quality niche - even if their grape varieties and origins are largely unknown and difficult to pronounce.

We, the importers , , , invite you - together with the Hungarian wine ambassador to taste the exciting wines of the new generation!

Once you have experienced the wonderful people behind the labels, you will learn to understand and love their wines. A special kind of wine experience. To be experienced in one of Berlin’s most spectacular locations .

Grüner Veltliner is a grape variety which we absolutely love at vinofactum. Home to Central Europe, it’s the most planted grape variety in Austria 🇦🇹 second most popular in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿 and can also be found in Slovakia 🇸🇰& Hungary 🇭🇺.

Grüner is wonderful at expressing terroir while remaining its own characteristics - apples, lime/lemon, grapefruit, lemon zest and white pepper. It’s also a versatile companion on the dinner table 🥙🍲

This particular wine is Grüner Veltliner from from a loess soil which is a great expression of the Bořetice terroir, South Moravia. 3-day skin-contact gave this wine much richer aromatics and supported the already typical spiciness of Grüner Veltliner. Expect a balanced, full-bodied wine which is already nicely aged and still has the potential to age further in the bottle. Fantastic wine for fine gastronomy and a great bottle to impress your wine nerd friends with.

GLOW. Glamorous Ladies of Wine.

Ruš Orange 2021 and Neruš Orange 2020. I know it’s not about the label but I can’t walk past these bottles indifferently when I’m at the warehouse. And the wines are as good as the labels.

They were made by Iva Měřínská . A winemaker whose 1.5 ha vineyard is located in South Moravia, Czechia. I always thought that Iva was the queen of orange wine but then I tried her barrique- and bottle-aged reds and they blew my mind. So Iva is the Queen of Wine. Period. Last time I saw her was at where she rocked up to in style with a spittoon with a photo of her cat.

Looking forward to more wines from Iva!

✨ Winemaker Spotlight ✨

Martin Vajčner ( ) works with ~5 hectares of vineyards in the region of Znojmo (South Moravia, Czechia). Some of his plots lie on the territory of a national park. Can it get any more pristine than that? 🌳🤷🏼‍♀️

The grapes are hand-harvested and foot-trodden. Martin doesn’t shy away from working with local wood and even local clay to focus on materials available nearby and to reduce carbon footprint ☘️

Why do we like his wines? Firstly, because each one of them is a great expression of the local terroir. Secondly, because Martin likes experimenting. He often doesn’t produce the same wine year-to-year. So every vintage is “like a box of chocolates - you never know what you’re gonna get” 🦄 But you know it’s always going to be awesome 🤩

But what does it mean? Wine is made from grapes in the end so why even bother to state this? 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s about the products used for clarifying and stabilising the wine before bottling. These can be animal-derived, such as egg white and gelatine. So when a wine is vegan, it means that no animal-derived products were used for clarifying and stabilising the wine or that the wine was not clarified at all 🤓
