Approximately two years ago to the date, I built this flag, which literally included my blood, sweat, and possibly a few tears after the angle grinder bit me during it's production.
After moving to Michigan from Virginia for my job with the Army, the buyer, who was supposedly a friend in Michigan, started ducking me to avoid paying me for the completed order. After numerous attempts to closeout the deal, which included me delivering to him over an hour from my house, I canceled the transaction and moved on with my life.
I then offered this up to find it a new home and had multiple offers within minutes from reputable friends. My boy Deuntay ended up getting it but wanted a name plate added. Not thinking it would be difficult, I agreed. I quickly found out that adding the name plate without it looking like it was an after thought would prove difficult. Regardless, I finally got it done and this is still my favorite piece that I've done to date.
So please understand why I require deposits before I start a project. I generally only require the material cost but have to ensure that I don't run the risk of getting stuck because of some people's lack of integrity.
