It begins in 1500BC when the King Stone was erected to create the 3rd instalment of the archaic Rollright Stones of Oxfordshire. Similar to Stone Henge and Avebury this Neolithic stone site has seen celebration and rituals dating back to the Bronze Age.
Ascending from the Cotswold Hills like the Rollright Stones themselves, King Stone Gin forges a relationship between the ancient heritage of the sight and the area of outstanding natural beauty it’s produced within.
King Stone Gin is the brain child of Sam; a son of the Cotswolds who spent many years traveling the world making wine. In those years he has explored his passion for craft drinks, extending his taste buds and refined his palate as he’s gone. Along the way Sam has met people from all walks of life that have spurred, enthused and driven him to come back to his home-land of the Cotswolds and produce something of his own.
Steeped in tradition and heritage King Stone Gin is distilled in a one-shot distillation method using a 30L copper-pot still. One-shot meaning, we add our base spirit which comes from barley and our 9 botanicals to the still and macerate (soften or become softened by soaking in liquid) for 12 hours.
