To our beloved Cru members, we wish you a fantastic holiday season. May it be filled with lots of good times with the best people in your life and some really really good wine.

It’s been a crazy year for all of us, but we're grateful to have you in our lives. We're a small Australian business that exists because we want to share great local wines with some great wine-loving people. Woohoo, we’re pleased to welcome Shadowfax to the Cru!Established in 1998, Shadowfax is a boutique winery located just 30 minutes from Melbourne in the heart of Werribee Park. J.R.R. Tolkien fans might recognise Shadowfax as chief among horses. He shone by day and passed unseen at night.

Dedicated to creating high quality and handcrafted wines, Shadowfax produce outstanding Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Shiraz as well as a selection of highly limited, single-vineyard wines. Chief Winemaker Alister Timms has a strong focus on regionality, with the majority of fruit sourced and hand-harvested from their vineyards in the Macedon Ranges and Werribee, as well as small growers in Geelong. 2020 will be a year the world will never forget, but for many of our local winemakers, the year was disastrous long before Covid made it's mark. Bushfires ravaged many of our prized wine regions, destroying vineyards and compromising fruit with smoke taint. In fact the situation was so bad that many wineries had no 2020 releases at all. Nick Spencer was one such winemaker, but he's bounced back better than ever with a new 2021 range, with fruit sourced from Gundagai and the Hilltops Region in NSW.

As always, Nick’s passion and remarkable talent for considered, quality wines is evident in every bottle. In addition to his fantastic Pinot Gris and Rosé, the range now features a super-tasty Preservative Free Shiraz. If you haven't yet had the pleasure, treat yourself today, and if you're already a fan, you know what to do. Enjoy!
