The first new arrivals for this weekend are a pair of Doubles from , a personal favourite who’s beer we’ve always held back as exclusive to subscribers. This time it’s going into beer club packs AND will be in the fridge over the weekend. Pentrich do 8%+ beers about as well as anyone, so these will be very good

On sale from Midday Saturday, to drink in or take away… Wor Beer is a pale ale from Anarchy Brew Co. which is a must for Newcastle fans, as it sees 50p from each can donated to Wor Flags to help them carry on helping to make St James’ Park the best place in the country to watch football, also keep your eyes peeled for our other new arrivals this week as we’ve got some belters coming

Cancel your plans for this weekend… After what seems like an eternity we’re ready to go and will be operating as a bar on weekends from this Friday, in addition to our outrageous craft selection we’ll be fully stocked with wines spirits and cocktails, so there’s something for everyone!

Our licence has landed and we’re now open both for drinking on site (add 50p to the price on this list) and as a takeaway bottle shop like always. We’ll be posting more updates on bar opening times etc. over the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled.
As you can see from the price list we’ve got loads of new stuff (more than we can fit in the fridge), so get drinking 🍻

This is the selection delivered to beer club subscribers this month, first up there were four cans from one of the many top class breweries we’re blessed with in the North East, we’ve been meaning to get some in the fridge since before we opened and eventually we’ve got round to it, all four of these will be on sale as soon as there’s space in the bloody fridge.
There were four more from Tottenham-based Italian brewers , who are responsible for a couple of “wild card” selections this month, these ones were exclusive to subscribers(as are three of next month’s)
The next lot of subscription beers are already planned and it’s probably the best selection yet, no attempt to find something different, just absolutely belting hazy beers with bags of flavour. One of them is the best beer I’ve tasted this year

The fridge has been successfully transported to the new shop, so we’re all systems go to start serving on Saturday, and what better way to celebrate than with the latest releases.
🍒🍫Tonka Black Forest Gateaux is their latest session sour, expect cherry, chocolate and vanilla at a safe strength, if you’re a Vault City fan you know how good their beer is, if you’ve never tried one this could be the perfect place to start.
🍌🍫Banana Split… it’s 8% and it tastes like banana, chocolate and caramel, what more is there to say?
🍇🍯Blackberry Raspberry Heather Honey is last up, and at 9%, packed with juicy berries and 200kg of Scottish heather honey, this can’t fail. P.S. I’m very much aware that emoji is grapes.
These will all be on sale from Saturday alongside our current stock, some restocks and maybe even a couple of other new ones if we can make room 🍻

We’ll be open for beer sales at the original shop for the duration of the Prudhoe fair, after that we’ll be moving the beer to the new shop from next weekend. Availability is still more or less as it was the last time we posted a price list 🍻

The keys have been exchanged and we can finally announce that The Bait Box(and more importantly the beer) is moving along the road to what was previously The Corner Cafe, we’re number 54 Front Street at the moment and the new shop is number 59 so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. Keep an eye out for an official opening date and drop us a message through the week to make sure we can service all of your bank holiday beer needs 🍻

Four new arrivals from have touched down in NE42 this afternoon which I can’t wait to sample, and we’re over the moon to be able to say we’ll be stocking all of their new releases going forward. Their latest batch of Modern Sour Beer includes:
Peach and Mango Session - 4%
Papa Doble(Grapefruit, Lime, Cherry & Banana) - 7.5%
White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake - 8%
Vault Wagon(Jam, Marshmallow and Chocolate) - 9.5%

A debut this week for Sussex-based . Like us, they believe that craft beer is for everyone and unlike us they make some bloody good beer, their can artwork isn’t bad either.
The first two from them are Swimming in Citra and Swimming in Idaho 7. Single hop, tasty, hazy sessionable pale ales. Idaho 7 and Citra are perfect for this style so these are a guaranteed winner if you’re shopping in the

Stillness Is The Move - 6.5% - DDH IPA crammed with juicy Mosaic & Idaho 7 and
then crammed some more with zingy Vic Secret &
Ekuanot. Big tropical Daiquiri goings on
May Mosaydee Kaylie Lowya Roses - 10% - Aromatic mandarin joins a tropical fruit bowl of mango, pineapple, guava & passionfruit. This is just a ridiculously good sour, don’t ask us to say it’s name though

🍺NEW BEER🍺
Our first new beers for this weekend come from a brewery that’s new to us, and it’s another local(ish) brewery. Bishop Auckland’s have interested us for a while and when they released a DIPA this week we had to have some, both of these beers are included in this months Beer Club subscription
Scrabble is an 8% double IPA brewed with and is a juicy, hazy, tropical DIPA which will be real crowd pleaser
Combine is 5.4% and the first Saison we’ve stocked, it’s double dry hopped and is crisp, clean and super-sessionable
