Officer Kendall Corder (Milwaukee Police Department, Wisconsin) and his partner responded to a violent domestic call. As they were driving to the call, dispatch updated the call alerting officers that gunshots had been fired.

The officers arrived on scene and began walking near an alleyway. The nearby suspect ambushed both officers and began shooting them. Both officers were shot multiple times. Both officers were eventually transported to a local hospital. The suspect surrendered hours later and was taken into custody.

Officer Corder was placed on life support and valiantly fought for his life several days before ultimately succumbing to his injuries. Officer Corder's partner was released from the hospital. Officer Corder served with the Milwaukee Police Department for over 6 years.

Deputy Sheriff Brandon Gaede (Phillips County Sheriff's Office, Kansas) responded to a call about illegal fireworks being detonated. Deputy Gaede investigated and began attempting to place the suspect under arrest. As he did so, the suspect began to fight. During the struggle, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot Deputy Gaede. Deputy Gaede was able to return fire and shoot the suspect. The suspect died.

Deputy Gaede was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Deputy Gaede served with Phillips County Sheriff's Office for eight years. He leaves behind a wife and children.

Officer Gabriel Facio (Apache Junction Police Department, Arizona) responded to a road rage incident where a man was said to be driving around with a gun. Officers found the vehicle and pulled it over. The subject in the vehicle was initially cooperative with officers but when asked to exit the vehicle, the subject became hostile. He reached into the glove box and retrieved a gun. He then exited the vehicle and began to walk away from officers. Officers began giving him commands and used less-lethal weapons but the subject did not comply. Instead, the subject raised the gun and began shooting at the officers. Officer Facio was shot in the face. Other officers returned fire, injuring the subject.

Officer Facio was transported to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition for 6 days. On June 8th, 2025 he succumbed to his injuries. The subject remained hospitalized.

Officer Facio is a Mexican immigrant. He proudly came to the United States with the life long goal of becoming a US citizen and to serve as a US police officer. He accomplished both of those goals and graciously gave back to the community. Officer Facio served as a police officer in Apache Junction for just over 4 years. He leaves behind a wife and children.

Officer Timothy Ontiveros (Bloomfield Police Department, New Mexico) and another officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver of this vehicle refused to roll down his window or identify himself to the officers. The officers negotiated with the driver for over 8 minutes as he continued to refuse lawful commands to provide his identity. The two officers on scene decided to attempt to place the driver under arrest. The officers broke the driver's window as they prepared to arrest him. As the officers did this, the driver brandished a gun and began shooting at both officers. Officer Ontiveros was quickly struck by gunfire. The other officer on scene narrowly missed also being struck by the suspect's gun fire. The other officer was able to return fire and kill the suspect. Officer Ontiveros was transported to a local hospital. He valiantly fought for his life several days before ultimately succumbing to his wounds.

Officer Ontiveros served as a police officer for a year and a half. He was also a volunteer firefighter. He leaves behind his children.

Officer Samuel Riveros (Baldwin Park Police Department, California) and other officers responded to a disturbance call where shots were being fired. Officers arrived on scene and found a civilian down. As officers prepared to render aid to this civilian who had been shot, the suspect began shooting at the officers. Two officers were struck, including Officer Riveros. An intense shootout occurred. Officers eventually were able to shoot and wound the suspect. Officer Riveros was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect was arrested after he shot 60+ rounds at the officers. The civilian was pronounced deceased.

Officer Riveros was a decorated member of the SWAT team and also a Field Training Officer. Witnesses to this incident described his actions as heroic during this incident which undoubtedly saved others lives. Officer Riveros served with the Baldwin Park Police Department for 9 years and leaves behind his wife and children.

Officer Krystal Rivera (Chicago Police Department, Illinois) was on routine patrol when she and other officers located a man who they believed was illegally armed with a gun. The man fled on foot and officers began chasing him. The man fled into an apartment building. As the officers entered the apartment building after the subject, they encountered another subject holding a rifle. Shots were fired. Officer Rivera and another officer were struck by rounds.

Other officers loaded Officer Rivera into a patrol car and began transporting her to the hospital. As she was being transported, this patrol car became involved in a serious collision. The patrol vehicle caught on fire. Officers were able to rescue Officer Rivera from this patrol vehicle where she was placed into another and finally transported to the hospital. Officer Rivera was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The two subjects involved were apprehended after they fled. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated at the time of this post. The other officer who was shot was treated for minor injuries.

Officer Rivera was described as a dedicated street cop with a passion for eradicating violence in the city. She served with the Chicago Police Department for 4 years. She leaves behind a young daughter.

Deputy Daniel Weston Sherrer (Morrow County Sheriff's Office, Ohio) responded to a domestic situation at a residence. Upon his arrival to the scene, a neighbor pointed out the location of the suspect. The suspect was sitting on a nearby porch armed with a gun. Deputy Sherrer began speaking with the suspect from a distance. The suspect threatened to shoot Deputy Sherrer if he came any closer. A short time later, the suspect began shooting at Deputy Sherrer. Deputy Sherrer was mortally wounded, however, he was able to return fire and wound the suspect.

Deputy Sherrer was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was arrested and charged with murder. The District Attorney advised that he plans to seek the Death Penalty for the suspect upon conviction. Deputy Sherrer served for the Morrow County Sheriff's Office for 4 years and leaves behind his fiancee.

Deputy Larry Henderson (Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Ohio) was assisting with traffic control for graduation ceremonies near the University of Cincinnati. As Deputy Henderson stood on a sidewalk, a vehicle deliberately drove off of the roadway and violently struck him. Deputy Henderson was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle had recently watched body camera footage of his own son being shot and killed by Cincinnati police the day before. In that incident, the driver's son reportedly fled from police on foot after being involved with an armed carjacking. As his son fled, he was armed with a firearm with an extended magazine which was recovered near his body. Deputy Henderson worked for a different agency and had nothing to do with that incident.

Deputy Henderson served with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office for 33 years. He was also a United States Marine Corps veteran. He leaves behind a wife and children. EOW: 5.2.25

Firefighter Graham Hoffman (Kansas City Fire Department, Missouri) responded to a call with police to check a female who was bleeding near a roadway. The female had minor injuries but asked to be transported to a local hospital. Firefighter Hoffman, who was a paramedic on the ambulance, began treating the female in the back of the ambulance as the driver drove to the hospital.

During transport, the female suddenly brandished a knife and stabbed Firefighter Hoffman in the chest. A struggle ensued. The ambulance driver pulled over and alerted the police who had been following the ambulance. As the driver alerted police, the female suspect attempted to steal the ambulance. She then began fighting with the police. During this struggle she bit a police officer's arm. She was eventually subdued.

Firefighter Hoffman succumbed to his injuries. He served with the Kansas City Fire Department for 3 years.

Deputy Brandon Sikes (Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Georgia) and several other deputies made a traffic stop on a RV so they could serve the driver with a domestic violence protection order (restraining order). The driver was initially compliant with the deputies. Suddenly, the driver pulled out a converted fully automatic pistol and began shooting at the deputies. Deputy Sikes was struck by rounds. Another deputy was shot in the face. An intense shootout occurred on the interstate between the deputies and the suspect. One deputy was able to rescue the deputy who had been shot in the face during the barrage of gunfire.

After the shootout, the suspect drove away in the RV but crashed a short time later. There was an hours long stand off before the suspect was discovered deceased inside of the RV. The suspect had multiple pipe bombs in the RV, some being remotely rigged.

Deputy Sikes succumbed to his injuries. The deputy who was shot in the face remains hospitalized in serious condition. Deputy Sikes served with Columbia County Sheriff's Office for 7 years and leaves behind a wife and child. EOW 4.26.25

Captain David Meyer (Chicago Fire Department, Illinois) was fighting a fire on the west side of the city when a steel beam crashed down on top of him. He was rushed to a hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries. He leaves behind a wife and children. He served with the Chicago Fire Department for nearly 30 years.

Deputy William May (Walton County Sheriff's Office, Florida) volunteered to work an overtime shift due to staffing shortages. As he was headed home at the end of the shift he responded to one last call as local Dollar General employees had called 911 due to a male trespassing and causing a disturbance in the store.

Deputy May arrived and quickly decided to es**rt the suspect away from the store without arresting him. As Deputy May es**rted the suspect out of the store, the suspect suddenly pulled a firearm and began shooting at Deputy May. Deputy May was struck multiple times. Despite being mortally wounded, Deputy May was able to return fire and shoot the suspect killing him. Nearly 20 rounds were fired in this close range, intense shootout. Deputy May's bulletproof vest stopped most of the rounds, however, one round struck Deputy May beneath his vest. Deputy May was rushed to a hospital where he was eventually pronounced deceased.

Deputy May served with the Walton County Sheriff's Office for 11 years and leaves behind his wife and four children.
