Good morning Lockport!
We reached 400 likes on our page LoveLockport this morning and and we we're so excited when we seen this, that we had to make an announcement post. 😀

Thank you to all of our followers that have liked and shared our posts, as you are the ones that have really made this possible for us!

We can't wait to share what we have planned for the upcoming months!

We have new, Lockport rock slate prints!

This rock slate print is ~8.25 × 4.5 inches and comes with the display feet.

We're asking $25 for these size prints but we also have larger slates and different sizes so please keep an eye open for more shares later this week!

The money collected from our souvenir and other item sales is used to fund the LoveLockport project as we are independently ran with no other funding besides money out of pocket.

If you are interested in any of the items we have to sell or would like to help in a different way, please do not hesitate to send us a message!

Here are a few neat photos to show off how Korff Electric Inc. has changed here in Lockport since it's opening year in 1895!

We don't have a year on the first or second, but third is dated 1966 and the 4th photo is from a recent Google Maps capture.

We had a follower submit us a few photos and within them was this photo of a crowd, gathered around a public speaker, with the Harrison Building shown in the background.

Other than what you can see in the picture, we don't have any other information and we thought it would be cool to see if any of our other followers can identify what might have been going on here.

*As pointed out by Bill, the flag has 50 stars on it, so the photo must have been taken after July 4th, 1060

Good morning, Lockport! Hope everyone is ready for a beautiful weekend!
This many-named Lockport hotel was known as the Stevens by the late 19th century.
Built as the Judson on the site of the Tremont Hotel, source of the Great Fire of 1854, it would be re-named the Grand, Rheutan, Stevens, Kenmore, and finally, Lox Plaza before its 1966 demolition.

We are reaching out to fellow Lockport citizens of past and present for any historic photos, memorabilia, postcards and other souvenirs related to Lockport, NY from the 1990s and older.

Scanned images and copies are welcomed! You do NOT have to give us the original copies but we are willing to preserve and properly store any documents that are given to us to keep.

If you have ANYTHING you'd like to contribute with, please contact us at [email protected]

If you aren't able to travel or email but still want to contribute, we'll pay the shipping costs or come pickup your contributions!

We'd like to collect as much as possible, in effort to keep project running strong with enough content to have the ability to continue sharing Lockport's history on a daily basis.
