Why CultureBox?

In 2020, my husband brought me a bottle of McBride Sisters McBride Sisters Black Girl Magic Wines. It was LOVE and PRIDE at first sip. Another day, he brought home Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, which quickly became my new favorite. Next, Gran Coramino a beautiful bottle of premium tequila.

I hopped on Google and searched, "Black-owned wines and spirits" and found only a handful of articles about the makers and a few links to where I could buy. I discovered Common Ground Spirits, Maison Noir Wines, La Fête Rosé and so many more.

This prompted a few questions:
- Why can't I shop all these brands on one site?
- Why don't more people know about them?
- What good can I do here?

Black wine and spirits makers are not new.

They have been finding their way through a competitive juggernaut for decades. They are creating stellar products and many times don't have big marketing dollars to tell their stories and drive sales. They are LIVING LEGENDS with courage and commitment to their craft. I want everyone to know who they are and buy their products. I want to see more equity in this industry.

So I decided I would take all that I've learned and pour it into building a place for people to discover and shop these brands, meet the makers, and, like me, be instantly inspired.
