🧊 Ever wondered where the sugar cube came from?
🤔 A town in the Jindřichův Hradec district on the southernmost tip of the South Bohemian Region, Dačice takes the credit of giving the world this sweet little invention. The first sugar cube in the world was hence patented here on January 23, 1843. The cubes flew around the world and the rest is history.

🚇Did you know that the first metro station in Prague was Hlavní nádraží?
🚉The old station above Hlavní nádraží is a lovely place to visit while waiting for a train. It was designed by Josef Fanta, one of the most important Czech Art Nouveau architects, but it is his great-granddaughter who is making a splash in the modern world. His great-granddaughter is none other than Kate Kelton, a Canadian actress and artist who became famous as the face of Tic-Tac ads in the Great White North.

🌉Do you know amazing story of the beginning of the construction of the Charles Bridge?
🌁The first stone of the bridge was laid by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV himself (1316-1378) at the time set by him. The emperor, a fan of numerology, laid the stone at exactly 5:31 am on July 9, 1357. This amazing time is a palindrome as it is read backwards, 135797531, which the emperor believed would give the bridge extra strength!

📖 Did you know that Cesky Krumlov was founded around 1250?
🌹 Founded by representatives of the Witigonen family, with a five-petalled rose in its coat of arms. Over the years, the town has become a treasury of medieval, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. Many of them remain in excellent condition.

🚊 Our Czech trams know how to make an impression.
🏛️Home to one of the largest tram networks, Prague holds on to its cultural heritage through regular maintenance and monitoring of the tramway system. In addition, Historical Tram Line No. 41 is operational at weekends that uses historical tram vehicles and a week-long operating Nostalgic Tram Line No. 23 uses the old PCC based ČKD Tatra T3 tram vehicles. Brno is another city that operates historical trams in Czech Republic seasonally.
