With a hot summer coming through, the demand of thirst-quenching sparkling wines soars. While Champagne, Prosecco and Cava are the popular choices, they are yet the best you can find on the lands of the Great Britain.

In 2020, UK produced 8.7 millions bottles of wine, in which 64% are sparkling wines. Since 2019, 4 English sparkling wines have obtained the ‘Best in Show’ award in the Decanter World Wine Awards, which put them on the top 0.5% of nearly 20,000 entries every year. The overall quality of English sparkling wines is already beyond doubt and ‘up-and-coming’ - they are on par with Champagne and it is happening now.

If you are a fan of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, you must also love this English alternative. The crisp, mouth-watering whites made from the local grape variety, Bacchus are the best and the most unique English take on summer wines. The Cornwall-based, family-run Camel Valley has made incredible dry Bacchus whites for many years and this wine has won numerous top awards over the years, including the Decanter World Wine Award Gold Medal 2019 (95pts). Characteristic aromas of apple and pear orchards, elderflower essence and grapefruit flavours, with a clean and mouth-watering acidity backbone. Precise and absolutely gorgeous.
