2023 will be the year of saturation !

2022 was already challenging but we haven't unfortunately reached the bottom. We need to reach this bottom to build together a great future !

I am so hopeful for 2023 and I know it will be hard but for those who'll manage to let it go and leave the past behind, the future will be promising !

The era of mass consumption and large-scale economies has no tomorrow. It is time to get back to what is real and what matters: humanity, care and community work! 💖💖💖

I will be running block sessions of French classes:
🇫🇷 The 1st block - on Wednesdays from 18:00-19:00 - will be for families to join together and learn through games.
🇫🇷 The 2nd block - on Wednesdays from 19-00-20:00 - will be conversation classes for those who can speak pretty much fluently and who need some mind refresher.

Kyleakin folks: have you received your GAME leaflet yet?

What could you offer?😁

Talking about French classes, I am working on something for the Clever Communities. I 'd like to start a 10 weeks beginners classes and a 10 weeks conversation classes for those who can speak fluently but wouldn't mind a bit of a refresher. 1h of each. What do you think? I am planning to do it on Wednesday evenings - starting in January - from 5:30-7:30 or 6 to 8 PM.

[GAME and kids]

There is no minimum age to be part of the GAME !

As long as your kids can write and count, they can definitely join. If as a parent you supervise what they purchase or sell, the GAME is totally safe and it's a brilliant opportunity for them to learn the value of efforts vs money. They'll also be able to understand better the community spirit and practice their commercial and counting skills !

[GAME booklets]

I have been making the 1st GAME booklets this week ! This is not perfect but it is a start !

As I explained before, the GAME is a local monetary system. The unit is the GAME Points (♾️) and there are no coins, no notes, no cards ! Payment is made through this little booklet.

When you sell something, you record all the details in your partner's booklet and he/she will record the sale in yours.

The GAME is based on self-management and trust.

[What do you trade within the GAME]

Trading within the GAME is made with fun !

💖Sale of goods : locally grown food, locally picked brambles, locally made jam or cakes, home-made soup, your special home-made dish etc. If you are good at making something, you can trade !
Other goods include whatever you could have in your house: fourniture, clothes, toys etc

💖Rentals : do you have stuff that might interest others ? You could rent them for an hour, for a day or even for a week? As instance, I am planning myself to rent my juicer, bread maker, some French novels etc. But you could rent your gardening tools, some party equipment...

Some people in France even rent their bath tub ! Everything is possible !

💖Services: your own knowledge, personal experience or even training can help others ! You can offer whatever you'd like really: yoga classes, cooking workshops, shopping lifts or even just your own time and spend it with others who need it.

[GAME Prices]

GAME is a sovereign monetary system so you are free to fix your own prices.

The unit used is "GAME Points".

The symbol is the infinity symbol "♾️" which represents the continuous exchange of goods and services.

GAME Points are universal which means they are the same all over the world. You can pay in this money with whoever is part of the community.

GAME Points are based on time.

Even if you are totally free to set up different prices, it is still recommended you base your calculations on the following :
*1 ♾️ is 1 minute
*1h work is consequently 60 ♾️

So for instance, if you are doing 1h gardening for somebody, you could charge them 60 ♾️ but if you however offer services that need special knowledge or special equipment, you could charge let's say 100 ♾️. It is totally up to you.

If you are selling goods, you can base your calculations on the usual wage per hour.

Let's say in the UK the wage per hour is about £10. If you'd like to buy a bag of carrots at £1, then it would cost you about 6 ♾️ (60/10).

[How does the GAME works]

The GAME is a monetary system where everybody needs to participate actively in order to get the benefits back from it.

The 1st thing you'd need to do is think about the goods or services you'd be willing to offer. Set up a GAME price for each of them (more information on this later on) and advertise them on our Facebook group "Skye & Lochalsh GAME Community":

We advice you start slowly with 2 or 3 goods or services - things that could be available on a regular basis.

We also advice you start with a sale so that you are not in a negative balance straight away.

Once you are part of the GAME, you will be handed a booklet. This is where all your transactions and balances will be recorded.

No notes, no coins, no online transactions. All goes into your booklet. So whatever happens in the world (no cash available, internet disruptions...), you can still trade.

When you sell or purchase something, the other part will be the one in charge to record these transactions in your booklet while you'll update theirs.

The GAME relies on self-management. You decide what you offer, you set up your own prices and you are responsible for your own booklet.

This is community based and you cant cheat. If you start cheating, people will know about it. Also, if you dont actively play your part and are always in a negative balance, people will naturally stop selling to you.

This is what you call in French "donnant-donnant" (give and take). You only get the benefits to it if you are actively part of it !

[What is GAME Skye & Lochalsh]

"GAME" stands for "Garden for All Manner of Exchange". This was created in France as "JEU" ("Jardin d'Echange Universel").

GAME is a self-managed sovereign money. This is a completely independent monetary system and allows people to exchange goods and services in a different way and build stronger communities. It is like a local money owned by its people !

Please have a look at the documents below.

GAME is not well-known yet in English-speaking countries so it is hard for me to find documentation in English. I dont think it exists in the UK either yet. These videos from Mado (GAME Montreal) are a start. I will make sure to give you plenty more explanations.

If this idea seems right to you, please get in touch. I can only make it come true with your help... This will take time but I totally believe in this project. Once you understand how it works, I know you will love it as well 💖
