This Sancerre is garage wine at its best! Winemaker Vincent Grall has been quietly making Sancerre (aka Sauv Blanc) with his two employees since 1999.

As the smallest producer in the Sancerre region (located in the Loire Valley of France) Grall manages 9 acres organically, does everything by hand and still makes this stuff in his garage. This super cool French guy makes Sancerre because he really enjoys doing it... and drinking it.

We can't get enough! This wine is like licking a river stone dipped in citrus, so any food that comes to mind with that visual makes for a great pairing. It begs for something sour. Lemon, lime, fresh goat cheese (like the kind that makes you pucker). It can pierce through oil like a perfect salad dressing blend, so don’t be afraid to serve this with a rich salmon or sea bass.

From Domaine de Pallus - an old family estate that exploded into international fame in 2003, when Bertrand, the prodigal son returned from Spain. He reinvigorated the domain, converted farming to biodynamics while embracing local winemaking traditions. His wines were good from the beginning, and they've been getting better every vintage.

Orange wines have gained a lot of momentum from the natural wine community. Here are 4 things to know about these delicious wines 👇

1. What's old is new again!
Orange wines (made from white wine grapes) date back ~8000 years ago to the oldest archaeological evidence of winemaking in the country of Georgia 🇬🇪

2. ✌️ ways they get their color:
-- Oxidation:
Winemakers can allow small amounts of oxygen to ‘oxidize’ the wine during fermentation. Similar to how an apple slice turns brown when exposed to oxygen, this process creates an orange hue in the wine.
-- Maceration (aka “skin-contact”):
Grape skins are left in contact with the juice during fermentation to extract additional tannins, flavors, and color. White wine grapes are typically pale yellow or green and this process extracts an orange-ish hue into the wine.

3. So many names! They're called 'skin-contact wines' or 'oxidative wines' to indicate which process makes it orange. Or 'amber wines' minimizes confusion as 'orange wines' can suggest that oranges (the fruit) were used to make the wine. 'Ramato' is the Italian term for 'copper-colored' and refers to orange wines traditionally made from Pinot Grigio.

4. The taste? They're often described as bold or more robust than white wines.

Through skin-contact, they extract more tannins, flavors, and color - giving them a lot of body and texture that can be both clean and gripping, like the fine grains of pear juice.

Oxidation enhances flavors of dried fruits, honey, spices, and nuts. It also introduces oxidative qualities that can be an acquired taste that's often more welcome amongst drinkers of kombucha or other fermented beverages.

These days, we find ourselves adding some unique, non-alcoholic beverages to our drink rotation.

From natural wines to teas, we cheerfully embrace the movement to drink better and this season we're sipping through ✌️ teas we discovered from Brooklyn, NY.

Founded by friends, Young & Grant, Unified Ferments uses only four ingredients to create wildly delicious and satisfying teas - made similar to a Kombucha, with a much more delicate flavor.

Check out two of their latest flavors - Jasmine Green Tea and Wen Shan Bao Zhong (a Taiwanese oolong tea). 👇

𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮
Scented in the traditional style with fresh, whole jasmine buds. Deeply aromatic and floral with eucalyptus, tuberose, and green peach.

Pairs nicely with saltwater fish, rich clear broths like pho or consommé, or anything deep and mild which could benefit from a highly aromatic pairing.

𝗪𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗼 𝗭𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮 文山包種茶
A lightly oxidized, bright Taiwanese oolong tea. The powdery floral notes, deep oat sweetness, and subtle salinity are the tea’s trademarks.

Pairs excellently with fresh oysters, sheep’s milk cheese, watercress sandwiches, or anything enjoyed for its fresh quality and brightness.

It's Day, aka Day, and we’re celebrating with a rosé! 🤯

🍇 Did you know they're the same grape variety? Pinot 𝘎𝘳𝘪𝘴 is the French name and 𝘎𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰 is the Italian.

🍷 The grapes are a light-colored red allowing winemakers to produce different styles from white to rosé!

👇We can't get enough of this rosé from Oregon!

From winemaker Vincent Fritzsche, the grapes were crushed and steeped on their skins for three weeks, giving a rich color to the final wine, along with an incredible, almost spongy character. Like berries and cream, with a buttery biscuit underneath.

Vincent launched his winery in 2009, focusing on low-input winemaking, using sustainably-farmed vineyards and producing small-batch wines by hand.

Introducing... the subtle, cheery side of Syrah! 🍇

Made using a technique (aka ) to keep the wine fresh and light-bodied, this wine is all Syrah but dances around like a Pinot Noir.

Best served chilled- it's the bright and friendly version of Syrah - fresh cherries instead of cooked pie filling, green peppercorn berries instead of cracked black pepper.

Warm sunshine = Drink something chilled!

With lower tannins and tons of juicy fruit flavors, this wine practically begs to be put on ice. Cooling it down makes it a refreshing, and even thirst-quenching way to wind down the week.

𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘆 | '𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱' 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗱
It's grown-up fruit punch. From a vineyard that’s been farmed for over 100 years, this wine is packed with flavor and history. Wild cherry, clove, and star anise all come together to make this deliciously grippy and tart. Great with sausage pizza, spicy tofu, chicken or ribs – right off the BBQ and smothered in sauce.

👆This is a Malbec unlike any other you’ve tried. California’s take on an Argentinian classic.

Big and smooth, with a clean lift of Luxardo cherry and the silky texture of the syrup they’re floating in. Baked plum and a hint of dry sherry keep this reminiscent of the Argentinian classic, but clearly born from the California sunshine.

Enjoy with foods from the grill - lamb and veggie kabobs, classic cheeseburgers, and BBQ pork ribs.

It’s Easter and it felt like the right time to talk about Pranz𝘦𝘨𝘨 😉

Nestled in the Alto Adige region of Italy where most grapes are sold to wine cooperatives, Pranzegg is one of a few wineries to grow and produce wines. Martin & Marion farm biodynamically – aka organically with an eco-holistic mindset to minimize harm to the earth and maximize harmony among the people, plants, soil, and animals.

With everything done by hand, there are no tractors, and the duo focuses on native Italian grapes Lagrein and Schiava. As Martin puts it, their wines “narrate the region, the scene, the year and our way of living.”

🍷𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗲𝗴𝗴, 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼
This Rosso Leggero, or “light red,” is the kind of wine you want to bring on a hike and crush (as in, drink quickly). Casual with a crown cap, this wine is a basket of raspberries and rose petals on a warm day. Light on its feet and low in alcohol (only 11%), there are no rules here, just crack open, drink chilled, or heck – serve over ice in a pinch. You’ll be done with it before the ice melts 🙃

Try with honey baked ham, meat or cheese-filled tortellini, or hard cheeses like Pecorino Romano.

Natural wines made by hand and hoof! 🐴

Winemaker Daniel Schweizer is a purist in the vineyard.

Using naturally-occurring yeasts in his vineyard to ferment his grapes, he crafts wines with a zero-zero approach - nothing added or subtracted, aka no pesticides, chemicals, filtering etc.

His two horses, Funa and Wäldergraf, replace tractors and cultivate soil year-round, embracing his ecological approach to farming.

His four-footed friends are even featured on some of his wine labels.

A deeply satisfying orange wine
Fruity with Anjou pear and preserved lemons, and also grounded after spending 2 days on the grape skins, delivering a freshly-struck-match intensity. The texture is both clean and gripping, like the fine grains of pear juice.

A lively rosé for all-day sipping
Made with Spätburgunder (German Pinot Noir) that’s light on its feet – exactly what you want to drink when white feels too light and red feels like too much. Big crushed raspberry with a delightfully cool glow, this will keep you refreshed and wanting more.

Counting down to Easter with this delicious cider from - a perfect balance of creamy, smooth, sparkling apple goodness. Not sweet, but also not piercingly dry... like an apple custard!
