The books are here! They arrived Wednesday late in the afternoon. Despite repeated delays and shipping accidents we now have more books to send out. Please pray for the funds to arrive for postage and consider making a tax deductible donation.

Great News! The books are arriving tomorrow. After weeks of delays the call finally arrived. If you are somewhat local we’d love to have help unloading the semi-truck. Please reach out for time and location. I’d you are unable to be there physically we would appreciate prayers. We plan to have a special prayer over the books after they on the shelves. We want each book to go to an open and receptive heart.

The books are currently sitting on a barge just out from the harbor in NY. So prayers for their soon delivery would be appreciated. While funds continue to trickle in, we would love to have some larger donations for the postage once the books are finally delivered.

Prayer Request - the books were scheduled to arrive on Friday. However we received an email alerting us that they were behind schedule and would arrive in port in NY today. This means that it could be 10-15 days before they arrive in Dickson so we can start using them.

Please pray that they fly through customs and to their final destination.

Happy Sabbath!

We have a prayer request. The books are scheduled to arrive on January 28. Please pray that they arrive safely and get through customs quickly.

Also pray for more donations. Each book costs $5 to mail. We are quickly going through our funds for postage. In order to keep up with the 100 per week schedule we need to have donations coming in consistently.

We are now sending out 100 books each week. This is 75 more than we were previously sending out. Please pray for the pastors that will be receiving books this week.

We often have people very interested in the project, but have very limited funds. While money is always useful, there are quite a few other ways you can help that do not require a monetary donation. I’m going to tell you about one of those today.

We gather the names for our pastors through a variety of ways. Phone books, truepeoplesearch, websites, etc.
But unfortunately this means we might miss some of the smaller or independent churches.

We would love to get these pastors names added to our list. Any names will be sent out in the next mailing.

We need Name, Address, and Denomination.

Thanks to some very generous donations we have received enough funds to purchase a little over 1500 Pacific Press Great Controversy books while we wait on the ones from Denmark. Each book costs $5 to mail. So now we are needing almost $8,000 to mail these books out ASAP. Postage, mailing supplies, and printing costs are rapidly rising. So we are pushing to get as many books into the hands of pastors as quickly as we can before the prices skyrocket.

An addition to the previous post. Some of you do everything electronically. So here is the online way to donate to the GC Project. It is still tax-deductible. Just one little detail - the treasurer is only able to access these funds every two weeks. So if we are doing a countdown for funds received yours won’t show up for a couple of weeks.

The Great Controversy is usually purchased from a publisher in Denmark. For years we were purchasing from Pacific press. We were their largest purchaser in TN. But through some great contacts we were able to find this beautiful book that was so much cheaper. Cheaper means more books can go out.
Last month we purchased 8 pallets of books. The publisher warned us that he was running low on paper and that the price of paper had gone up by 30%. The books are now waiting on paper and the price has more than doubled. He is being gracious and not charging us more. But in the mean time we are running out of books. So we need about $5,000 more to purchase some books from Pacific Press to hold us over.

The Backstory!

Several years ago, Gary Pyke felt called to send out a Great Controversy to every pastor in the United States. He knew it was a HUGE calling. He also felt impressed to send out a hardback book instead of the usual paperback copies that would be significantly cheaper. Experience had shown him that people felt free to throw away a paperback. But even if they chose not to keep the hardback, they wouldn’t throw it away. He has since learned that people who do not want the book return them, gift to others, or donate them. He began the ministry with just himself and a portion of his own paycheck each week. And then was completely blown away by the responses. He quickly learned that this was a mission way bigger than himself. So he got family, friends, and his church involved.
The ministry is now run completely through his church (non-profit) and has multiple people volunteering each week to get the books Into the mail. Over 6,000 pastors have received a hardback copy of the Great Controversy. Some have refused to read the book. But many others have called or sent beautiful letters of thanks and appreciation. Each week we will share some of these calls and letters. We also hope to enlist your help with prayer requests, sharing the page, and donations so we can send more books out each week.
