The mothership of Wine Please! have been partnering with since the early noughties. On these special times of celebrating their great triumphs with their 90th Anniversary and Winery of the Year 2024 by , we remember their early success. Chilean Wine Producer of the year 2005 at International Wine & Spirit Competition; “New World Icon of Tomorrow” Decanter September 2007 issue; “Top 100 Wineries of the Year” Wine & Spirit Magazine 2017 to name a few!

A pioneer from the beginning, De Martino was the first to export wine labelled as Carmenere, this is a fascinating story we will have to leave for another time. They were also the first winery in South America certified 100% carbon neutral. We can all see the traits and we have no doubt they will have many more success stories for generations to come.

De Martino Celebrates 90 Years in Style

As Chilean wine producers go, certainly bucks the trend. Located in Isla de Maipo, in the heart of the Maipo Valley, this family owned and managed winery – that celebrates 90 years in 2024 – is focused solely on the production of premium quality wines from their Maipo and Itata vineyards.

Late last year De Martino was chosen as “Winery of the Year” by the acclaimed “Descorchados” wine guide, and at the same time their newly released top-of-the-range “Cuvée” was selected as the “Best Red Wine of the Year” – the perfect way to get the party started!

“Cuvée” is the culmination of 10+ years work, understanding the Cabernet Sauvignon that we produce here in Isla de Maipo, and is the definition of understated elegance and finesse. It eloquently expresses our house style, and is produced in very small quantities.

We’ll drink to that!!
