The maguey for mezcal have to be approximately 6-8 years for them to reach maturity. These baby magueys were just planted last week. The next 3 years will be tedious and hardwork, from cleaning , watering 🌧 and giving natural nutrients so they can thrive. 🪴🌞

Teach them young, teach them the right. By educating and letting the younger generation take charge in the Palenque, they learn the artesanal way of making Mezcal. This is one of the many way that we, as a family, preserve and pass down our culture.
