Black & White is a blended Scotch whisky originally produced James Buchanan & Co Ltd in London. The blend contains a high portion of quality grain whisky and a smaller content of malt. It is a pale-gold appearing whisky with a citrusy note on the nose, along with sharp grain and biscuits aromas and a faint touch of peat.

On the palate, Black & White Whisky has notes of sugary dried fruit, young oak, vanilla, caramel and lemon. The finish is short, with a slight sweetness of honey 🍯

This spirit has been distilled for over forty years. When it was first distilled in 1970, it was called, Kinywaji safi. This is Swahili for “drink clean or fine drink.” It would seem that back in the day, distillers just made their own h***h, and it wasn’t always safe and definitely not regulated.
So the Tanzania Distilleries Limited (TDL), which was established in 1968, told local distillers to bring their products to them to turn them into “safe, clean” drinks. While TDL makes other liqueurs such as brandy, whiskey and vodka, Konyagi still remains their flagship drink.

Vat 69 is a Scotch whisky classified as blended scotch whisky. It contains 40% ABV.

This whisky was created by William Sanderson & Son Limited of South Queensferry, Scotland that was absorbed into DCL, now Diageo. The Vat 69 was introduced in the market in 1882.

To the nose, it has hints of spice and caramel, notes of barley malt, with a soft wheat character — a touch of pear juice.

To the palate, it has ground almonds and barley malt. Slightly biscuit, more of those pear notes, a little pepper.
