When our very own William Seymour gave the keynote speech, and St Maur was served as the featured reception drink, at an exclusive event focusing on heritage and celebrating a British business success story, onboard HMS Warrior in Portsmouth, we did wonder why US secret service would be there…Thank you to John Rigby and Co for choosing St Maur and the Earl of Yarmouth to mark their occasion.

We highly recommend a trip to Café Cocktail in Stratford Upon Avon…Welcombe View, a most delicious Margarita Spritz created by the talented Jack of Café Cocktail. Inspired by two of their regular guests whose house looks out into the Welcombe Hills. A demonstration of the versatility of St Maur by master mixologists. Delicious!

St Maur, gin, and tonic. A match made for the senses, combining elderflower and gin to bring you an elegant and delightful twist on the classic gin and tonic.

20ml St Maur Elderflower Liqueur
40ml of a good London Dry Gin
Premium Tonic Water (we recommend flavourful Double Dutch tonic water ).

Fill a highball glass with ice (we have used the wonderfully English Cumbria Crystal for an extra touch of luxury ). Pour the St Maur and gin. Top with premium tonic water. Gently stir to combine.

Make it your own… Fabulously versatile St Maur marries beautifully with a range of flavours enabling that personal touch so you can make it just as you like it. Some of our go to recommendations to garnish: lemon and thyme, cucumber and mint, or rosemary and grapefruit…

When it gets cold, drink hot cocktails. St Maur and hot.

Recipe (measures are approximate)
50ml St Maur Elderflower Liqueur
30ml whiskey or whisky, whichever you prefer
15ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tsp of honey (we use borage honey from the farm)
Approx 125ml (½ cup) hot water

This cocktail is very easy to make. Combine the St Maur Elderflower Liqueur, whiskey/whisky, lemon juice, and honey in a mug. Pour in the hot water (just off the boil is ideal). Stir until the honey has dissolved and the ingredients are mixed. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, or star anise, or a lemon slice. Serve, relax in the moment, and enjoy.

This is another drink we demonstrated for .farmshop recently, and another hit with fans of Diddly Squat’s drinks at the Silverstone Cocktail Masterclass. The Red One. Bitter yet subtly sweet with a more intriguing and complex story to tell the senses than first meets the eye. A Negroni riff, for Negroni week. An easy drink to mix, to share and enjoy with those you love to be with. The result will do all the talking needed to show off what you can do.

Recipe
Diddly Squat Chilli Gin
St Maur Elderflower Liqueur
Sweet Vermouth
Aperol

Pour equal measures of the four ingredients into a mixing jug with plenty of ice, and stir until chilled. Strain into a “low ball” or rock glass tumbler filled with ice. Express the zest from a peel of orange over the drink and drop in as a garnish.

We demonstrated this delightful, and surprising, cocktail for .farmshop at their Silverstone Festival Cocktail Masterclass. The Green One. It was a winner with the audience and we have been asked for the recipe by many who were there. We think you will love this one too.

We had a blast at Silverstone sharing this drink, and it’s definitely one to make when you want to show off your mixology to your friends, using fresh coriander and a gentle kick of chilli.

Recipe
75ml Diddly Squat Bee Juice Tequila
30ml St Maur Elderflower Liqueur
30ml freshly squeezed lime juice
1 fresh “Bird’s Eye” chilli (that’s a type of chilli, not a brand)
A handful of fresh coriander leaves (your own hand size will do nicely!)

Slice off the top ⅓ of the Birds Eye chilli and set aside the smaller end and stalk as a garnish. Cut the remainder of the chilli into three slices and place into a cocktail shaker along with the fresh coriander, and muddle hard together until the two are combined. Add the Diddly Squat Bee Juice Tequila, lime juice and St Maur to the shaker, along with ice. Shake hard (to thoroughly chill and aerate your mixture). Double strain into a “low ball” or rock glass tumbler filled with ice. Garnish with the end of your chilli and fresh coriander leaves, serve and enjoy.

Celebrate the solstice and warm summer evenings to come, with a cold Margarita, just as the sun goes down. Branch out and make yours with St Maur, to put a little drop of England’s heart® into the end of a long day.

Recipe:
25ml St Maur Elderflower Liqueur
50ml Tequila Blanco
25ml freshly squeezed lime juice
A splash of Cointreau

Add all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled (that’s the drink, not you). Salt half the rim of your favourite Margarita glass dampened with lime juice. Gently strain the mixture into the glass, over more ice if you wish, and garnish with a lime slice wheel. Enjoy until chilled (that’s you, not the drink).
