Meursault Charmes 2019 pierreyvescolinmorey

Encore un strike !!!! Les 2019 sont incroyable chez PYCM , mais ce meursault est une pure merveille, tout ce que l on attend d un Charmes , en mieux et accessible jeune
C est l archétype du meursault charmes , avec une énorme matière , sur de magnifiques arômes de fleur blanche , de noisettes fraîches et d amandes, de brioche beurrée , avec un belle élevage vanillé, une légère réduction, légèrement citronné , mais ce qui est vraiment remarquable dans ce vin c est l équilibre parfait , l acidité et la tension qui contrebalance la richesse et évite toute lourdeur , l énorme minéralité et le fruit qui dissipe l élevage , c est à la fois puissant frais et digeste , la longueur est magistrale , tout est juste et parfait …. La bouteille se vide à une vitesse f***e , un très très grand vin !!!!!!

Oh yes, it is just so rare to come across these old editions of Krug Grande Cuvée. It is also always a gamble because of the uncertain storage conditions. But when it delivers, you are in for one heck of an experience.

-153rd edition (1997 base): the perfect evolution. Absolutely stunning, the text book Krug that has reached a state of grace. For me the best wine of the night. Candied fruits and toffee, with huge energy and a nice kick on the palate. Multidimensional, fresh and very complex. Insane!

-146th edition (1990 base): sadly, this bottle was a bit off, unclean and mousy. Nope…

We are big fans of a nice cup of coffee and a delicious piece of cake in the afternoon of a beautiful day 🍰😀
But these things are truly hard to get sometimes 😉. Much easier is of course to open a nice TBA - which is much easier to grab 😂

We are enjoying the 2009 today 👏👏👏
Precise with razor-sharp minerality in the nose, dense rich spiciness on the palate and even in the everlasting finish. The nose is also defined by dried herbs, some honey and citrus peel. On the palate you will be surprised by the freshness and youth of the acidity, truly racy and energetic, hardly any aging after 15 years. Very delicious! 🚀🚀🚀

Another absolutely stunning visit at Olivier’s lovely place, and some precious moments shared together, including some good laughters…! So lovely to start with this Les Enfers 2013. Only 0.96g/l dosage, disgorged in 2017.

We had this one a little while ago (2019?), and it proved very tight. This has opened beautifully to show more open and brighter fruit, as well as more roundness and thicker mousse on the palate. It has gained generosity and a hint of candies. Some dried white berries as Olivier mentioned. Still has plenty of time with an athletic and fresh profile. Les Roises 2013 that we had in Sweden in last November was, without surprise, more forward, riper, and showed deeper reductive traits (cereals).

Anyway, this proves the greatness of Les Enfers terroir, a cuvée that I prefer with a little bit of age. Thank you champagneulyssecollin and see you soon!

Recently added to my fine wine collection, the great wines from Bryant Estate, one of the original California cult wines to emerge during the early 1990s, along with wineries such as Screaming Eagle and Harlan Estate.

E. Guigal Cote La Turque 2001.
Côte-Rôtie “La Turque” is one of the flagship of the Domaine Guigal.
La Turque is in some ways a combination of the other two wines, La Landonne and La Mouline.
It’s bigger, darker, denser, and more tannic than La Mouline, but lacks the power, structure, weight, and tannin found in La Landonne.
The 2001 vintage is a blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier.
Acidity was higher than expected, it was gradually became more complex after few hours decanted. Medium to full-bodied, ripe tannins, elegant, meaty, with notes of black fruit, spices and mineral.

Il s agissait pour moi d une bouteille hautement symbolique, d un mythe , d un morceau de l histoire viticole française , un flacon de plus en plus rare à trouver, surtout de provenance sur …
Mais pas du tout , même sur un millésime compliqué comme 1987, le vin est magnifique, c est sur les petit millésime que l on reconnaît les grands vignerons …..
Le vin est encore d une fraîcheur f***e, il s ouvre sur des magnifiques arômes de fraise et de framboises, très floral , extrêmement délicat, tout en finesse et élégance , avec une belle trame acide , le vin tire un peu sur le tertiaire , avec des arômes d orange amer , légèrement truffé , de ronce et de rose , finale presque saline, tanins complètement fondu , encore une belle matière et une grosse longueur , le vin est encore en pleine forme malgres ses 37 printemps !!!!
Le mythe était au rendez vous ce soir !!!!
C est un vin de partage, de méditation, on a vraiment envie de la partager avec le maximum de personnes plutôt que de la boire à 2 !!!
Un beau morceau d histoire dégusté avec de belles personnes lors d une magnifique soirée avec un repas extrêmement raffiné !!!

Year after year the from can be called on of the best in the world 👏👏👏
Residual sugar that comes with so much fun, crisp and fresh acidity plus good minerality that it drinks like a fresh Kabinett – only with higher complexity. Beautiful fruity with delicious passion fruit and pineapple. 😀👍🌟
Also from #2014 it is still so lively and mouthwatering, not one bit heavy, no fat at all. Just a marvelous wine. Bravo! 🚀🚀🚀

Château Lynch-Bages 2003.
Château Lynch-Bages is a winery in the Pauillac appellation of the Bordeaux region of France.
The wine produced here was classified as one of eighteen Cinquièmes Crus (Fifth Growths) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
The authoritative wine trading platform Liv-Ex, placing Lynch-Bages with only nine other chateaux as a 2nd Growth wine, the only 5th growth to have made this leap.
The 2003 vintage is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
Mature, medium to full-bodied, silky tannins, with blackberry, plum, to***co and hints of cedar.

The very last post about our “Aux Reignots” vertical tasting. It took some time…and I’m a lazy person. Thanks again hillside_mj for organizing all this. Brilliantly executed by herr_big_ben ❤️🍷

-2011: some small sweet red berries. Medium ripeness. Fine palate, powerful, a bit dry, but how classy! Would deserve more aging. Still fresh, a little austere.

-2012: huge nose. So classy and so CLB. Black fruit and rose. Ripe and over generous. Very dense palate, a lot of power. Still some unpolished tannins… a bit rustic. Why?! Was it a root day?

-2013: a bit medicinal, similar to how 2013 can be sometimes with CLB. Not as good as the one in Paris for sure. Faulty bottle? Still drinkable but disappointing.

-2014: funny, a bit of toffee. Some alcohol. Fruit is also remarkable here. Medium+ palate. Needs time, but quality of fruit is impressive. Definitely a stunner.

-2015: smoke with violets. A bit of meat as well. Great fruit and generosity. Still sharp palate as well, tannins are spiky.

-2016: ultimate superstar. Perfect wine. 100/100.

-2017: corked.

-2018: fruit is nice with good ripeness. Palate a bit unbalanced.

-2019: confirm what we had later on in Crans Montana. Sooooo sexy, round and dense, quite polished, with great quality of fruit.

Some ups and downs, but the ups are just NUTS!

Famous Swiis producer Gantenbein just received rave reviews for their latest vintage from the wine_advocate, with their 2022 Chardonnay rated RP99 and their 2022 Pinot Noir rated RP98.
But how do those wines mature? I just opened a pristine Magnum of 2002 Gantenbein Pinot Noir. This was so pure, so elegant and full of finesse with seductive raspberry fruit, still so fresh and showing no age. Maybe not as powerful and persistent as todays Gantenbeins from vines, that are more than 20 years older now, but showing superb Burgundian abundance and splendor with good acidity and fine melt. This great wine should easily age another 10+ years. And measuring the speed by which this wonderful magnum emptied, our WT96 rating was very conservative.

Memories of a very cool lineup in an unexpectedly very enjoyable place for lunch at the very last minute. It always goes crazy with Charles, and the best is yet to come, this Saturday!

adriendhondt Terres Fines was as always just delicious, my favorite! So easy and it offers great purity. The Reynaud duo was, as often, extremely heterogenous. While Fonsalette was on total fire, the Des Tours felt old and dusty. Trevallon 2019 was certainly the biggest mistake of the year, super grassy and weird…probably too young!

Vietti Barolo Castiglione 2012: This is among the very best producers in Piedmont. The nose is airy, porous and fruity with cherries, blackberries and ripe strawberries. There are also dark red roses, moist forest floor, truffles and black tea. It is complex and exciting. The palate is medium-bodied, velvety, intensely fruity and medium-acidic. The tannins are mature and fully integrated. It is nicely balanced. The finish is long and fruity. It is lovely to drink now, and pairs perfectly with spring lamb from Klostergården in Rogaland. It is still at the very beginning of its optimal drinking window, and it can easily be aged for another 5-10 years. TW94

Dominus Estate Christian Moueix 1994.
Christian Moueix first discovered the Napanook vineyard in 1981 and had an immediate sense that this land could one day produce a wine of unparalleled quality.
The 1994 vintage is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot.
Impressive after few hours decanting, full-bodied, grainy tannins, with aromas and flavor of black fruit, spices, to***co and earth.

Château Figeac 2009.
Château Figeac is one of the leading Saint-Émilion estates and its wine, with its high Cabernet content, has often been described as the most Médoc-like in Saint-Émilion.
Figeac was promoted in 2022 to the level of Premier Grand Cru Classé A, the top tier of the Saint-Émilion classification.
The 2009 vintage for Bordeaux is one of the all-time greats, however Saint-Émilion wines was less consistent, as some brilliant wines were made and there were some excellent examples of Cabernet Franc, but others were overripe, unwieldy and lacking precision.
The 2009 vintage is a blend of is a blend of 35% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Merlot.
Beautiful and well balanced, medium to full-bodied, ripe tannins, with aromas and flavors of black currant, pepper, forest floor, to***co and cedar.
