Pope Francis, who is receiving treatment for a respiratory tract infection, had a peaceful night in Rome’s Gemelli hospital, Italian media reported on Sunday, while a senior cardinal led a prayer for his recovery.

Francis, 88, didn't appear in public on Sunday to deliver his usual weekly prayer with pilgrims because he has been told to rest.

The pontiff has been suffering from bronchitis for more than a week and was admitted to hospital on Friday morning.

- Dr. James Wani Igga, Vice President for the Economics Cluster.
- Hussein Abdelbagi Ayii Akol, Vice President for the Services Cluster.
- Appointed:
- Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel as Vice President for the Economics Cluster, representing the SPLM, replacing Dr. James Wani Igga.
