My first Okanagan Valley wine experience was this 2021 Cedar Creek Estate grown Chardonnay,which we picked up on our recent travels.

Squeeze the day with a Chardonnay that's stone-cold fabulous! With a peel of lemon,a rock of minerals and a fruit bouquet of yellow apple,pear, and refreshing lemon pith,it's truly grape to the last drop. Full bodied and pithy in the best way possible.

You will co-co-nuts for this great, easy Indian prawn curry with coconut milk.Fresh Ingredients include passage,coriander,garlic,shallots,coconut milk,garam marsala,mustard seeds,cumin,ginger,chilli flakes,tamarind paste and tumeric.

These are just some reasons why this pairing worked so well👌

ACIDITY - The lemony notes compliment the tanginess of the tomato and tangerine paste.

Villain & V***n Grenache. A Barossa beauty from which is great value and so dangerously easy to sip👌

If you turn your head to the left,do you see the villain? if you turn your head to the right ,do you see the v***n? (Ha ha I saw you do it)

Aromas are luscious, strawberry, raspberry, liquorice, dark cherry, and dried sage. A fleshy and juicy palate with succulent cherry,Turkish delight, and red Berry fruit.

Henschke Julius Eden Valley 2017 Riesling is an egg-cellent choice for your Easter celebrations 👌

It's drinking so well now at 7 years of age. Vibrant, fresh, and well-balanced. Pale lemon in colour, nose is lemon,lime citrus,kerosene, and notes of green apple,lime,mineral,stone fruits, and honey,with a great long finish.

Blushing 😊 Devilled eggs soaked in beetroot juice for 5 min.i was thinking of you with this one as I did some without bacon just for you👌Here's the recipe, hope you like it.

5 eggs boiled
1/2 tsp dijon mustard
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp curry powder
1 tsp dill pickle juice
Garnish with bacon ,smoked paprika, chives,dill slice, and parsley.

Sippin on Cabernet on top of the Hill,it's all about the grape view😍

Clarendon Hills Sandown 2006 Cabernet is sourced from 75 year old vines from the McLaren Vale,South Australia 🇦🇺 and definitely peaks some interest 👌

I had to summit to the fact that this was drinking so well. The nose is leathery with licorice to***co and plum.

Plateauing into a palate of plenty of blackcurrant,earth,blackberries, plums, and herbaceous notes.

Silky sweet and super long finish. Hint of Christmas cake as well.Great depth and look at that colour😍It develops with complexity over time. Still bold yet defined. It's probably on the downhill spiral but still so uplifting.

Paired well with homemade steak sandwiches, a rare and well-done pairing👌

I ate some Shephards pie today,he seemed quite angry about it🤪

Despite the cost of living,it still remains popular 🤷🏻 Over the coming weeks,I will be sharing some great budget buster pairings👌 You do not need to eat into your savings to have delicious food and wine pairings🙌Scrimp on cost not flavour👍

My Shephards pie,crispy silky potato,ground beef,onion,celery,carrots, peas, and a splash of red🍷

Grant Burge Classic Collection Shiraz. Made from classic parcels of South Australian fruit and ready to enjoy now.At $7 a bottle, this is fantastic value👌

A beautiful colour and flavours of red currants,ripe cherry, and strawberry notes. It has well-balanced tannins and acidity, which gives it an easy drinking mellow mouthfeel.
Goes well with BBQs, Shephards pie, and a great charcuterie cheese board.

Being financially savvy never tasted so good. For the accountants, this was under $4 a serving, including wine. ( I may have had more than one serving of wine🤣)

Shepard's pie and Shiraz,when your wallet says no,but your stomach says yes, and the cost of living is laughing at you😁

This Friday, we celebrate International Shiraz/Syrah day, and we are celebrating early with a pairing from the Gods😋8 hour slow cooked Lamb shanks and all the trimmings.

Ubertas 2020 Project D Barossa Shiraz. What a name Ubertas meaning is fruitfulness,fertility,abundance, and plenty, definitely describes this wine well😍

From 50 plus year old vines,it's a wine with exceptional elegance and finesse.It took a while to come out of its shell,but flavours of blackberry, violet,dark cherry and vanilla hits the spot nicely.

So if you're celebrating Shiraz Day this Friday and your having a great Barossa Shiraz like this,choose the lamb dish. You can shank me later👌🙌

Salm-on else will be on to it for sure,better to be safe than salsa,right?🙌

recently sent me their 0% alcohol Sauvignon Blanc to pair a meal with. Now, to be honest,I'm not usually into alcohol removed wine,but hey decided to give it a go🙌

If nanna gets the wobbles after a couple, or you're just looking to cut back a little and be a bit healthier without losing the flavour,this is a great option.

On the nose, it smells exactly like a Marlborough sav should👌Vibrant,passionfruit and crisp. The palate is a great surprise.Its lighter obviously than the real deal ,but yet it's full of citrus,tropical, passionfruit, refreshing crispness and dry.Kind of invigorating and inviting and way better than the grape juice I remember 🤪

Pairs grill-iantly with a light mid week dish of brown sugar,oyster sauce,garlic soy glazed crispy skinned salmon, and mango passionfruit salsa😋

Lock down this wine in your Cabernet. It's a candy-baa winner and has a great relation-sheep with roast lamb👌

A full-bodied Cabernet, this wine has mellowed nicely.Still so young but is rich with impressive cassis,juicy blackcurrant fruits, and a side of dark chocolate and French oak. So well balanced👏

No need for an Elk-a-seltzer with this venison and Shiraz pairing👌
It was all deer-licous🙌

Aged Shiraz 2008 is hand harvested from a single vineyard grower in Ballendean,Queensland, and after 18 months in hogshead French barrels,it was bottled for 13 years and cellared at 15°c.

Wine maker Peter Scudamore Smith MW is highly experienced in local soil knowledge in the Granite Belt, and it clearly shows in this wine👏

100% Shiraz,the nose on this cool climate gem shows aged spice,blackcurrant,black fruits, and jammy conserves. Its vibrant cherry hues and plush tannins create a rewarding round palate, while the lemony acidity brings a bright finish.It perfectly showcases the unique character of its Granite terroir.

I'm fawning over this venison with roasted root vegetables and red wine sauce pairing.The dark fruit flavours can stand up to the gamey meat and the roasted root vegetables harmonise earthy and sweet flavours,with the caramelisation from roasting can also bring out the natural sweetness and compliments the wine's fruit forward palate,which I love deer-ly😍

This food and wine pairing is giving me good Pie-brations👌

I-s-pie with my little eye chicken and mushroom pie with the 2010 aged Reserve Chardonnay.

This belter of a Chardonnay from was bottled in March 2011,then bottled and cellared at 15°c for 12 years.It has just recently been released and is at its optimum drinking window.

To those unfamiliar to this region, it shares a similar climate to that of Priorat in Spain,Orange in NSW, and Canberra in the ACT. The soil is granite, has good drainage,and is naturally acidic.With these characteristics, it is well suited to grape growing.

This Chardonnay matches the granite terroir perfectly👌Cool climate with green and yellow hues,it has aromas of mushrooms, lemon/lime acidity and crusty bread 🍞 On the palate it's elegant with flavours of earthiness, spice and a quick citrus zip of acidity,leading to a great freshness and cleaness.

Pie-fections with this dish👌Here are some reasons why.

The wine aroma of mushrooms complimented the earthy flavours, which enhanced the savoury experience.

The wine's lemon/lime acidity provides a refreshing contrast to the rich creamy flavours,cutting through the heaviness.

The aroma of crusty bread suggests a toasty and slightly nutty note that compliments the pastry crust of the pie.

Bangers,mash & Grenache, a ha-pea combination.

Meet the new Grenache. On the pour, it splashes with red and purple hues. The aromas of festive floral violets,ripe raspberries, and cherry ripe serenade your senses, whilst hints of cinnamon add a spicy twist.

On the palate, it's a real smooth operator👌Like a stand-up comedian,delivering a lighter bodied performance. Soft red berry fruits,candied notes, and naturally low tannins create a soft finish.

Bangers & mash with onion gravy pair well with this great Grenache due to the slightly higher alcohol content (14.5abv) and helps cut through the richness of both the sausages and gravy👍

No need to fish for compliments with this fantastic food and wine pairing🙌

Margan Estate Semillon 2022 from the Hunter Valley. This wine has beautiful pure citrus characters with great length, ripe fruit up front, a strong middle, and a long mineral finish.This is definitely winderful now, but it will also reward long-term cellaring.

Reeling in the flavour, I wouldn't be Cod dead pairing this with anything else. Pan fried snapper with a so-fish-ticated lemon 🍋 lime,garlic ,pepper sauce, and homemade herby-licous chips.

There is no need to feel gill-ty with this pairing,it's Sea-riously healthy and delicious👌I just fish we had more🙋‍♂️Happy Wine Wednesday friends🥂

Now let's scratch the surface a little 🙌We enjoy salmon at least once a week. If it was up to my wife, it would be so much more🤣So every time we do, I try and make it differently. Maybe to try and put her off🤣

Tuscan salmon, pan seared,crispy skin and loaded with garlic,onions,sundried tomato, spinach,lemon, and don't forget the parmesan cheese👌A restaurant quality dish made at home with spaghetti 😋

Vineyard. Hand-picked fruit and made with minimal intervention and natural fermentation.My tasting notes on this one were simple👌Cherry,florals, and red fruits. Silky, plush, and velvety. Beautiful and seductive 🍷

Sovrana Estate Reserve Chambourcin. The combination of a favourable climate,well drained soils, and effective vineyard management practices make Keri Keri an ideal environment for Chambourcin to flourish.

We checked out this beautiful winery while in New Zealand recently, and we are so glad we did. We stumbled across it by accident, and their award winning limoncello was amazing👌

More amazing was their Reserve Chambourcin 🙌It's special as it's made without the use of preservatives or sulphur.10 months in French and American oak. It is a deep berry intense wine with hints of vanilla and nutmeg.

Perfect and hoppy with our delicious kangaroo burgers 🍔 The bold earthy flavours were totally in harmony with this deliciousness 👌

Gnocchi-ng your socks off with another fantastic pairing😋👌

Gnocchi, herby tomato sauce, and Pinot Gris is an Italian love triangle that is so sauce-some, it will have you screaming Mamma Mia🙌🤣

We picked this Together Pinot Gris up from the cellar door of in NZ on our last trip. The name and label were inspired by the strength of New Zealand and how they banded together to fight the pandemic that was dominating the world at the time.

The light and crisp nature of this Pinot Gris compliments the richness of the tomato sauce ,while the acidity in the wine helps cut through the starch of the gnocchi 👌
It was so good to see so many responses to my question in my stories .What is your go-to wine for this dish? Mostly reds were answered but shows so much diversity and options that pairing wine with food is individual and many work so well👌Remember when pairing food and wine, there are no wrong answers and enjoyment is the winner🙌

I chose this option because I thought it was absolutely perfect for Spring👌A mid week cheers my friends🍷

The richness and umami flavours of the salmon cakes pair nicely with the earthy notes of the mushrooms, truffle, and creamy garlic pasta. The creamy sauce helps balance the richness of the salmon cakes while the garlic gives a savoury kick 😋

When it comes to the Oakridge 'Ovata' Chardonnay Pinot from the Yarra Valley,its crisp acidity and effervescence provide a refreshing contrast to the creamy and savoury parts of this dish. The wine's fruit and citrus notes complement the flavours of both the salmon cakes and pasta,making it a to start the week😋👌

This week is swimmingly delicious with more great fish pairings👌Our fresh, lightly battered, whiting fillets in our soft taco wraps were shrimply the best with the ever reliable Grant Burge Pinot Chardonnay Sparkling NV🥂

Bottle fermented and juice is sourced from Adelaide Hills, Alpine Valley, and Eden Valley.The grapes are delicate with intense flavours👌

Great on the nose with ripe strawberry,peach, and biscuit characters,the palate is rich with real freshness and a creamy mouthfeel.

This is a sparkling that adapts to its environment and is fantastic with fish tacos or just on its own👌

Fish puns are great any day of week,barramundi 👌😂

Well, it's o-fish-ial. This burger had more lean than a palm tree in a hurricane 🌀😂

Craggy Range is a family owned New Zealand winery established in 1998. These select parcels of Pinot Noir are grown on the ancient stony soils of the Martinborough Terrace in Te Muna, which actually means "Secret Place"

On the nose, a beautiful floral bouquet 💐 and a mouthwatering palate of rich black cherry 🍒, wild spice, and earthy undertones. Such a well-balanced wine,soft tannins, and minimal oak.

WHY THIS WORKS: The delicate, flaky texture and mild buttery flavour of the barramundi pairs well with the light/med body,fruity notes, and earthy undertones of this Pinot Noir👌The wine's acidity and tannins provide a nice contrast to the fishes richness without overpowering it.

Cloudy Bay was one of the first five wine makers to venture into the Marlborough region.

The 2022 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is a definite expression of this beautiful region. A vibrant inviting nose with arousing notes of juicy citrus,lime,passionfruit, and nectarine.

On the palate, it just gets better👌Ripe bright passionfruit and citrus, which fuse together with tropical subtle hints of guava and peach with a balance of stony mineral.

Med bodied with high acidity, it paired deliciously with our three sauce pork belly on a bed of cranberry and apple vermicelli rice noodles 🍜
