I was asked a few times last night about the reference to "Uncle Enoch". Well, my fellow Lincolnians, Enoch Lincoln was Maine's sixth governor and he was in office when the small village of Mattanawcook decided to officially organize as a Town in 1829. The name of Mattanawcook was changed to Lincoln in the governor's honor that very year. I may be slightly biased, but I'm sure old Uncle Enoch would be very disappointed that the Main Street Irving is closed and boarded up. Let's change that!

We the people of Lincoln and the surrounding areas hereby declare that we will no longer accept the absence of our favorite and most convenient Irving location! Irving Oil Circle K bring back the Main Street location! We're sick of dealing with the awful West Broadway traffic! We want a convenience store where we can walk safely and enjoy our giant fountain sodas on a hot summer day. We want glizzies back in the downtown area! Bring some life back to Main Street! Do it before it gets turned into yet another pot shop! Do it for Uncle Enoch, do it for America!
