Shochu is the most consumed spirit in Japan and has been made for over 500 years. It starts off fermented from rice like Sake, then undergoes a one-time distillation in a copper still when they add one of three ingredients; Sweet potato, brown sugar, or barley. Colorful Honkaku Shochu is blended sweet potato shochu, made by blending the raw distillate from two different batches. One batch was made in 2016 from black koji rice and Miyazaki Beni sweet potatoes grown in Miyazaki Prefecture. The other was made in 2019 from white koji rice and Tama Akane sweet potatoes grown in Kagoshima Prefecture. This collaboration between two master brewer-distillers is uncommon in the shochu world. In fact, blending in general is not done by most distilleries. As the name implies, this shochu is colorful on the nose and palate. Enjoy on the rocks or cut with soda water, or substitute in your favorite cocktail

Today we are pouring a delicious red wine from Argentina made from Grenache grapes. A flavor profile of red fruits such as raspberry and cherry along with light earthy and floral notes creates the refreshing taste this wine provides.
* The meaning behind the name Ver Sacrum is simple yet beautiful: As the young were sent to found new villages they brought with them grape vines to start new vineyards, doing such in a ceremony called the sacred spring. Ver Sacrum has become a symbol of the new tribe, new art, and new vine.

Everyone’s favorite day of the week, WINE WEDNESDAY is here again
🍇 Join us today from 3-8 as we taste the Vizar Barrica 2017 vintage. This gorgeous red wine from the Bodegas Vizar winery in Castilla y León, Spain has an intense cherry color with a complex, yet subtle scent of ripe red fruits, spices, and hints of licorice and cinnamon. Those delicious scents carry over into the taste of this creamy, full-bodied, balanced wine.
🍇 A blend of Tempranillo and Syrah grapes are harvested by hand where they are brought to the cellar to be pressed and macerated cold for a few hours. The wine is aged for 8 months in barrels of French and American oak

🌈For our Wine Wednesday today we will be sampling True Colours in honor of Pride Month🏳️🌈. A cava from the region of Penedes, Spain with an aging process of 14 months giving it a bright, crisp, and dry finish.
🍋With generous notes of lemon combined with minerals and fresh pastry notes the palate is elegant with fine bubbles and creamy, lingering finish

Begonia Sangria Tinta & Blanca are produced from the finest grapes, spices and natural fruit essences from the Iberian peninsula. The family recipe dates back two generations!
🍇 Begonia Sangria Tinta: Notes of citrus, red berry, and spices. A blend of Monastrell and Bobal grapes ripened in the vineyards of Cuenca and Yecla Spain that are then blended with Azahar flowers, a mix of Mediterranean spices, herbs, and essence of Valencia oranges produces a sangria that captures the spirit of Spanish summers to enjoy all year round
🍇 Begonia Sangria Blanca: Notes of citrus, tree fruit like melon and apple, cinnamon, floral and oaky flavors. Their white sangria is created with the Macabeo (also known as Viura) grape ripened in the vineyard in Murcia then blended together with Azahar flowers, essence of: cinnamon, orange, lime, and lemon. Exhibiting bright citrus and spice aromas that make it both smooth and delicious!
What makes this wine unique? All of the ingredients used to to create this delicious sangria are natural and high quality. The fruit flavor comes from the natural extraction of the essence of the fruits and spices. Also, this sangria is not pasteurized, allowing the flavors to appear and remain more apparent and fresh.
