This position requires a combination of skills and licensing, including but not limited to: Alaska Class A commercial driver license (CDL) with an X endorsement; mechanical aptitude to perform routine equipment maintenance; customer service skills to serve customers in a positive, professional and ethical manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

This is non-overtime exempt position that will pay 1.5 times the hourly wages for time worked in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week, in accordance with applicable Department of Labor requirements.

Position Summary:

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing various accounting and payroll processes and other essential duties and responsibilities of the position. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, extremely detail oriented and have experience in high-transaction volume work-environments focused on invoicing, payroll, and bank reconciliation functions.

Essential Job Functions:
- Processes cash applications and reconciles payments to the bank statements by deadlines
- Reviews invoicing to ensure accuracy and product quality
- Coordinates terminal fuel orders
- Gathers necessary information to complete city sales taxes for assigned markets
- Reviews and assures payroll data entry in payroll system is accurate
- Leads the process to run a bi-weekly payroll and completes journal entries
- Prepares routine reports for management
- Acts as back-up for the billing team and receptionist

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience
- Excel (intermediate level experience)
- Word (beginner level experience)
- 10-key by touch

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: -
- Knowledge of state and federal Payroll laws
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret accounting rules and tax codes
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using good grammar
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of people
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
