Lost Republic Distilling Co was founded by Colin Harter and Matthew Weese in 2013. Growing up best friends in Sonoma County and being surrounded by beautiful vineyards and terrain, the two had a vision of creating California’s craft brown water and the spirit that goes with it. At Lost Republic, we aim to deliver California’s highest quality craft whiskey. It was a simple dream that is now being distilled into reality, and a delicious one at that.

DISTILLING & BARREL AGING
Master Distiller Matt Weese, a former winemaker out of the Dry Creek Valley, has a keen focus on the distillation and blending process. His attention to detail during the blending process, gives their whiskey flavor complexity and depth. Using premium air dried white oak barrels, opposed to the more common kiln dried oak barrel, their whiskey stands out in quality. Using larger copper pot stills, they are able to control the consistency of their product while still remaining craft.

THE ONLY BREWERY & DISTILLERY ON THE KENTUCKY BOURBON TRAIL.
The first era of the Lexington Brewing Co. began in the 1890s and came to a halt during Prohibition, changing ownership several times in the decades that followed. By the time Pearse Lyons and his son, Mark, explored the brewery in 1999, it was a dilapidated shell of what it had once been. However, Pearse was a visionary and entrepreneur and saw only what it could be. Spurred by a passion for brewing and distilling that courses through the Lyons family lineage of Irish coopers, Pearse revived Lexington Brewing Co. and restored a craft beer tradition that dates back to the 1700s.

TOWN BRANCH DISTILLERY
The first new distillery built in Lexington, Kentucky, in more than a century, Town Branch Distillery is named for the storied creek that flows through the city. Filtered by the region’s famously limestone-rich land, the waterway once supplied the city’s earliest distilleries. Today, Town Branch whiskeys and spirits celebrate an iconic history and a lasting legacy.

As a European-trained winemaker, Scott Harvey began his career in 1974 and is considered (among his other accomplishments) a kingpin in establishing Amador County in the Sierra foothills as an internationally respected growing area. Over the years, Harvey has become known for his expertise in Zinfandel and now Barbera, claiming the Amador region has some of the best in the world. Today, Harvey continues to produce exceptional wines under the Scott Harvey Wines label, using fruit from his estate vineyard and other top sites in the region.

In 1972, decades after the last winery in the county was shut down due to Prohibition, Greg and Sue Boeger stumbled upon a former fruit, nut & vineyard from the 1849 mining era and decided to call it home. As a result, Boeger Winery became the first modern-day (post-Prohibition) winery in the El Dorado American Viticultural Area.

Greg Boeger became a winemaking pioneer by experimenting with lesser-known varietals such as Barbera, Carignane, Refosco, Charbono, and Aglianico, to name a few of the 30+ varietals that the winery grows today. Barbera emerged as the winery’s magical gift early on and has since garnered hundreds of awards under the Boeger label. In 2018, Greg Boeger was awarded the Wine Lifetime Achievement Award by the California State Fair, joining the ranks of other California greats such as Robert Mondavi, Jerry Lohr, Bob Gallo and University of California, Davis.
