Help us keep you safe ♥️ we LOVE having allergy-friendly flavors and letting us know your allergies helps us out! Here are a few things we can do:
• check (and double check) our allergen database for specific allergens
• grab a freshly sanitized scoop
• pull a fresh pan (if available)
We do make all our ice cream in the same facility using the same machines. While we do our best to limit cross-contamination, make the best decision for your health!

Back in the early days of The STIL (summer 2017), we started out with a pretty small menu of only about 12 flavors. We had a tiny kitchen and even less freezer space (it’s actually impossible to believe we pulled it off with the setup we had). Almost daily, our ice cream supply would be depleted by day’s end and Dan or Kasey would show up early in the morning to restock, and would also often be making ice cream late into the night just to keep up with the demand. One night, we had run out of some ingredients for the flavors already on the menu, but we needed something in the case as it was looking a little sad. Kasey created Deja Vu from broken waffle cones, almond extract, and crumbled oreos - a mishmash of random things we had laying around in the kitchen. It became an instant staff favorite and best seller (not bad for a flavor literally thrown together in a few minutes out of necessity). When The STIL crew tasted the flavor for the first time, it had a familiarity to it - it reminded everyone of something they’d tasted before, yet no one could put their finger on exactly what. Thus, we called it “Deja Vu” because you feel like you’ve had it before. Fun fact: Kasey does not like this flavor.

Our Story - The Sweetest Things In Life
It started with a question in Fall of 2016. “Where do I take my kids for really good ice cream around here?”
Dan Sell casually asked the question to Kasey Allen while they were working together on the creation of a software company. Dan, an Ohio native who had recently moved his family of 5 to Boise, was longing for a place that reminded him of his childhood days spent eating ice cream with his family and friends at the favorite local spots in Ohio’s cities.
Besides the usual suspects of chain stores and froyo shops, Kasey didn’t really have an answer - especially not anything uniquely creative, focused on local ingredients, fun flavors, and high quality product. The two joked to each other, “Well maybe we should create that!”
That joke turned into a serious idea when the pair bought a countertop ice cream maker for $400 and started experimenting in Dan’s kitchen. The concept came together - an ice cream shop meets brewery environment with unique, creative ice cream flavors and optional beer, wine, and espresso pairings, floats, and flights. Flavors would span dairy-free/vegan, custom ice cream creations, and booze-infused options. The STIL would be a beacon for customers to reconnect with and be reminded of the sweetest things in their lives over the joy of a delicious ice cream, friendly service, and an upbeat atmosphere.
Over the next ten months, Dan and Kasey checked one thing off at a time, learning as they went and barreling toward a summertime open date. In July of 2017, The STIL (an acronym for The Sweetest Things In Life) opened it’s doors to the public. Since that day, The STIL has become an incredibly popular destination for Boiseans and visitors alike, garnering national media attention, a “Best of Boise - Best Dessert” award, and hundreds of 5-Star reviews across digital platforms.
The STIL continues to innovate, collaborate, and give back to the community and looks eagerly ahead to years of growth and service to Boise and the surrounding communities.
