Our community is the County seat of Brunswick County and as such is the governmental, commercial, and cultural center of the area. Visitors are encouraged to begin at the municipal building lobby at the Main Street entrance where an information table is located. Adjacent to the lobby, the Lawrenceville Town Office and Brunswick Chamber of Commerce have knowledgeable locals on staff who can answer
questions and furnish helpful information. Parking is available throughout downtown. Explore the Brunswick County Museum, cheer along side baseball fans at Sonny Wholey Field, thumb through historic war records in the Clerk's Office on Courthouse Square, take in an ArtBank performance at Brunswick High School, or pay respect to fallen soldiers at Oakwood Cemetery. The developing To***co Heritage Trail, a part of the East Coast Greenway network, is available for horseback riding, jogging, walking, and wildlife viewing. The Trail extends 17 miles west from the South Street access point across the Meherrin River, through the town of Brodnax and ends in the town of Lacrosse. Andrew's Episcopal Church, stately homes on South Main Street, and the old fire alarm bell may also be of interest to you. On the outskirts of our town limits to the south, you’ll find Fort Christanna, Saturday night racing at Brunswick Speedway, and water recreation on beautiful Lake Gaston. Before you head out of town, grab a bite to eat and pick up a gift for that special someone at a local business. Lawrenceville is a perfect community in which to locate a business that serves the region of Southside Virginia. Downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We offer a package of business incentives and work closely with real estate agents to match entrepreneurs with buildings. Immediate access to business consultants who meet one on one with prospective businesses at no charge is also available. Parking
A surface lot is located behind the Lawrenceville Municipal Building with additional spaces available in an adjoining lot. The municipal building is located at 400 North Main Street. Additional parking improvements are coming online behind the buildings downtown that line Hicks and Main Streets. Street parking is available throughout the downtown area on North Main Street and Hicks Street. Unless otherwise posted, parking is limited to two hours. Events
Thousands of people attend the annual National Night Out and Spring Fest/Rotary 5-Miler downtown each year. Seasonal events such as a Halloween and Christmas parade draw spectators from across the county. Vendors are encouraged to participate. For more information, contact the Brunswick Chamber of Commerce. Opportunity
