Belux (2018) happened to be one of three Edición Regional releases in the 2018 class to wear the Diplomáticos band.

Made with a three-seam cap and colorado wrapper, this plump cigar is a slow starter, beginning with a simple earthiness that blossoms to show layers of walnut, toasted cedar and coffee bean before the finish of charred oak. It draws well and the burn is self-correcting.

The Hoyo De Monterrey Escogidos LCDH cigar is pure elegance. With its 180 mm and 19.29 mm diameter (ring 49), this double corona will appeal to lovers of large vitolas. The Hoyo de Monterrey Elegantes is covered in a cinnamon brown wrapper that features a bit of tooth as well as a significant amount of oil. The cigar is quite spongy when squeezed, and there are multiple veins running up and down the length. Aroma from the wrapper is a combination of strong barnyard, manure, grass, cedar and leather, while the cold draw brings flavors of creamy oak, almonds, cinnamon, leather and a touch of citrus.

The Partagas Serie D No.6 is the newest
addition to the Partagas "D" series and joins the classic robusto, Partagas Serie D No.4 and the Partagas Serie D No.5, (launched in 2011.) All boast a 50 ring gauge, but the No.6 is the shortest in length at 3½" (90mm). Thus making this a stout cigar ideal for brief smoking breaks, whilst retaining all the rich aromas associated with the Partagas brand.

The ci**rs are presented in a unique SBN box and carry 20 ci**rs. The D6 has already become a firm favourite with smokers as it is so powerful, and so short. It is also heavily armed with that legendary Partagas full body; the entire 20-25 minutes of this smoke is intense and flavourful.

The Montecristo Open Eagle is a Geniales vitola, measuring at 150mm with a 54 ring gauge.

The Open Eagle offers a creamy mild-medium strength smoke with a sweet floral profile with a touch of cashew nuttyness. As this cigar progressed we found additional flavours of cedar, coffee and a touch of cinnamon towards the finish.

You can expect to enjoy this smoke for around the one hour mark. This is not a complex smoke, it would be best enjoyed outside for a day on the golf course or for a day on the water. The fresh air adds another element to this smoking experience instead of taking away from it.
