Four years ago this month we closed. I wanted to check and see if anybody is still out there, and give a current update. Jason and Ellie are the owners of Corner Market Beer & Wine on Grubb Road near Parkway Deli. The store has a tremendous selection of wine and it has the largest selection of local craft beers in Montgomery County. For the little ones, they have a ice cream shop inside the store. The name may not say it, but they also have a full selection of the same groceries that made Chevy Chase Supermarket famous (plus you can even buy a lottery ticket while shopping). Don’t forget to say hi to Liz, Anna, Humberto or Luis while your shopping. I’d enjoy catching up with everybody, especially anybody who is part of a start up business. Thank you. The party last night was unbelievable. Over 500 friends came to say goodbye. It's tough to put into words what the last week, month, and 60 years have been like for our family. We loved every minute of it!!! Not many people in life get to say that they love going to work everyday, but Jason and I loved every minute of it. We will miss everybody!!! HOWEVER, you can still visit us, many of the people who worked for us, the horse and the MM man at our other locations. Look for our new name, Corner Market and Pharmacy. We have one location on Grubb Road in Silver Spring, near Parkway Deli. We have another location set to open in April on Nelson street in Rockville next to Carmens Ice and Hard Time Cafe. We expect to have an additional 3 more Corner Market and Pharmacy locations by the end of 2019. AND, even bigger news in September, Jason will open Poolesville Market in Poolesville, Maryland. We will keep our website chevychasesupermarket.com updated so you can always check to see what we will be doing or continue to follow this page. I guess I’m getting older. Now I’m starting to reminisce about everybody and everything. Power outages. Snow storms. Sleeping in the store. Turkey bowling. Etc. As we head down the final homestretch, our last day will be Sunday March 11th. Previously we’d hope to be open until the 31st, but it’s now the 11th. Monday morning. Everything in the store goes to 40% off. We still have a large selection of milk, juice, eggs, produce and deli foods. Share this post please. Reminder, Saturday morning, we open at 9:00. We still have a few bottles of wine plus an almost full dairy and produce department. Strip steaks and Delmonico's are still in stock. We still have chips, water, sodas and the deli still has plenty of food. Stop in, everything is 25% off except for stamps, gift cards and ci******es. We close for good Saturday March 31st.
