Kazak Update from Paul: Just went to visit him after surgery, he was still pretty groggy and was just waking up from anesthesia. They said that the damage was much more severe than they had thought before they were able to actually cut him open to perform the repair. His ligaments in both hind knees were so far deteriorated that there was almost nothing left. They were surprised he was even able to walk at all. Due to the severity of the damage they had to cut out more of his bones and install metal plates to replace the damaged ligaments. They're keeping him over night to keep an eye on him since they had to administer an epidural to his hind quarters and he has no use of his legs, or that tail of his, until it wears off on into the night. They're gonna see if they can get any movement out of him in the morning, and if they can get him to eat and take his medicine before they can send him home tomorrow. He wasn't in too good of shape when I saw him, but the doctors said that the surgery went really well and they expect a full recovery in about 12 weeks. Thanks for all of the positive vibes and everyone checking in on him, it really means a lot. I'll let everyone know how he's coming along.
