Hanging at my favorite cigar bar in Traverse City MI. If you ever get to Traverse City Nolanā€™s Cigar Bar is a must stop for a great cigar and great cocktail.

For the past two months I have been neglecting my businesses due to the loss of my brother. During that time I have added a new element to Fat Ash Ci**rs. Most of you know FAC as a mobile retailer of premium ci**rs, which was a dream of mine for years. So in 2022 I launched my dream in North Carolina.

As with all good dreams comes an occasional bad one, at least that is what I thought at the time. For family heath reasons my wife Susan and I moved back to Florida. What was frustrating at the time turned out to be the best move ever.

So after going thru the licensing process in Florida, Fat Ash was launched again. But after a few events in the Sunshine State, I decided to stop competing with the brick and mortar stores and went from 100% ā€œpremiumā€ ci**rs to 70% Boutique and 30% premium. As a retailer and a cigar lover it was the best move I have made. Since I made the change, my sales have gone up, my margins are way better, my customer interactions are way more fascinating, I have joined the BCA (Boutique Cigar Association) and it has lead me to the reason for this post.

Fat Ash Ci**rs is now a cigar brokerage firm for BOUTIQUE Ci**rs only. In my next post I will explain why and what the differences are. Until then, smokeā€™m if you got ā€˜em.

Nice evening in Enon Ohio, the night after my grandson graduated from Greenon High School, enjoying my go to evening cigar the Kafie DF Maduro Toro! If you have noticed I havenā€™t posted a lot lately, I lost my brother Dave last Sunday and my wife and I will be in Phoenix Tuesday for the funeral. I know I am not the only person to lose a sibling but since Dave was the only brother I had this is hard for me. I know I will never get over this but I hope someday it will be easier to deal with. Enough about my grief here is my happiness. First picture is my brother, the second my grandson Derrick on the right and last my stick of choice. Thank you for hanging with me thru my pain, my happiness and my enjoyment. **rs

Well itā€™s been a minute since I rated a cigar so tonight I thought I would try a cigar I have wanted to try since I read about it. I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin King Brown this past Saturday, the man behind these fine ci**rs and he offered me a Konscious Cameroon Toro to try. So on this beautiful Ohio evening I thought itā€™s time.

The dry pull is nice, not to loose not to tight, the first puff on light was a bit stronger than I was expecting but nice. Strength according to the site is med-full which I agree with. The first third was creamy with a little spice and a touch of oak. The flavor holds true through the 2nd third with a touch more pepper but not over powering. The final third was just as good as the first third with a bit more pepper on the retrohale. All in all a fine cigar, I paired it with Blackberry Crown and was pleased with the mix of flavors. The draw was consistent for the whole smoke and took 48 minutes to the end. I would definitely add the Konscious Cameroon to my private humidor, if you get a chance try one I think you will add it to yours as well. **rs

Got a chance last evening to spend time with Shaun & Mandi Wilkinson. Who are Shaun and Mindi you ask? They are a couple from the UK who set out, probably against their better judgement especially in the height of the pandemic, to launch a cigar company. To call them rebels would be appropriate as taxes on ci**rs in the UK are crazy, a face to face company in a pandemic hmmmm and kind of crazier, learning the business as you go. Yes they are rebels and that's the name of their cigar company, Rebellion Ci**rs. Great people, I have wanted to try their ci**rs since I heard about them, last night it was the Ace Of Spades a wonderful full flavored cigar. Visit https://www.rebellionci**rs.com/store-locator/ to find a Rebellion near you, I found mine at Toast Cigar Bar in Fort Myers and soon at a Fat Ash location near you **rs **rsclub **rs

We were at Edison Mall yesterday in Ft Myers and walked by some CBD store with a pimply faced teen standing in the door way with a white lab coat on. My question, is that suppose to instill confidence in me? Am I to feel that I can walk in knowing everything will be fine because this voice crackling young man will guide me to the correct CBD salve to cure my ailments because he or she is wearing a white lab coat? I think not!

I absolutely love coming home from a trip. Donā€™t get me wrong, I love to travel but this morning when I got up I couldnā€™t wait grind my new favorite brand of coffee, Kafie 1901 Coffee. I am in to my second pound and loving it. First round was the Honduras Espresso, this round Brazilian Arabica. If you want to try some great coffee, might I suggest a pound or two. My next will be Sumatra. FYI, I do not get a penny for this, although the Kafieā€™s are friends, I feel I am doing you a service by telling you about my great finds. If you would like to try it let me know and I can tell you how to love your next cup.

So for those that follow my personal page you know I have been out of town for a week celebrating my grand daughter's graduation from High Point University in North Carolina. Today she is a Doctor Of Pharmacy and I am as proud as I can be!

So while packing for our trip, I loaded up my mobile humidor with a few of my favs to take with me and of course when we got back Friday there was my travel humidor right where I left it. Thank you Boveda for keeping my sticks as fresh as the day I forgot to take them.

As most of you know I have gone almost 100% Boutique both in my business and my personal humidors so when traveling it is a challenge to find what was sitting on my dresser at home. So my almost grandson in law and I went on the hunt at 8:15 for a store that was still open, as most of the lounges in High Point were to far away or closing at 9. As we pull up to Charlie's To***co Outlet (which closes at 8:30) all the lights are off but there is a man standing in the door, as I get out of the car he waves us in, turns all the lights back on and says "take your time." Normally in this type store, there is one cabinet humidor with maybe 200 sticks, so imagine my surprise when he takea us to a walk-in with at least 250 boxes of big name ci**rs. Cohiba, Arturo, Rocky, Acid, Romeo, Oliva, Padron the list goes on. So after a few minuets looking around I locked on to a cigar I have wanted to try for a while, Perdomo. There were a couple of choices but I selected the 20th Anniversary Toro Maduro. I think it was about 10 bucks, quite possibly the best 10 dollars my almost grandson in law spent, it was his treat.

The construction was superb, the draw perfect after I rolled the head around a bit and the burn was straight, A complete Nicaraguan cigar, full strength and a retrohale full of flavor. Hints of coffee, spice and I got a bit of dark chocolate and the flavors were consistent throughout the smoke.

I don't have a numbering system to rate my reviews, my system is simple, would I buy it again? This cigar gets a Yep. **rs **rsclub **rs **rsociety **rsmoker
