On the anniversary of what was my busiest day of the year, I'm missing all my customers. While I'm excited to have a "normal" holiday weekend, you all made my holidays special. John and I were speaking this afternoon and he agrees. We miss you all! I hope you all have a safe and peaceful holiday weekend! With love from our homes to yours and best wishes for what's ahead.... It sure looks different in here! I stopped in to say goodbye to the place. I'm headed out of state tomorrow to start my next adventure in life. There is some sign of hope some good things will be happening in thus space soon. Nothing is set in stone yet so I don't want to get people excited for nothing but when it's confirmed I'll let you all know. - Jenn

This has been an amazing wonderful last day....an incredible 10 years! On the day my son turned 19 I closing up shop for the last. The outpouring of support today has been incredible. A piece of my heart will forever be here at 516 Main Street. I have no regrets. It's been a great ride. Thank you to all that joined me on the journey ❤️

There are still some variables in place but at this point it looks like Saturday 7/15 will most likely be my last day open. I am out of a few things like regular Corona bottles and large bottles of Tanqueray and Jack Daniel's but the shelves are still pretty full. I greatly appreciate the continued support. Over the next few days I'm going to have fun saying goodbye to everyone. This, however, is a small town and I still will see many of you around. Now that I will be working less, I may even have time to start showing up at the local breweries.

A few questions are getting asked over and over so I'm going to try to answer them here. ....
1. Are you really closing? (Yes I am)
2. Did you sell the business? (No. I had a buyer but they were unwilling to sign the lease. Other buyers came forward and said the same after hearing the terms)
3. When are you having a "fire sale"? (I am not. It's not legal. I'm serious. If you don't believe me look of CT liquor minimum bottle pricing laws. If I could do that I have sold it all off and been gone by now. I can however reduce the price on discontinued items so there is a few items on sale. Some of them are awesome ones.)
4 Can't you just pay someone to run it? (No 🤣 If it were that easy I would have done it years ago)
5. What are you doing next? (I'm getting my life back. I've worked 7 days a week for 10 years. This industry only has 3 holidays a year. I'm burnt out)
6. When is you last day? (Very soon. Too many variables to have an exact date. I'm waiting for some calls to be returned, etc but it will be very very soon)

This has been a liquor store for over 50 years. I was working here in 2013 when I made the choice to put in an offer on the business. This has been a great adventure and I have no regrets on this being my career the last 10 years. I've met some wonderful people whom I now consider friends. I have learned a lot and have something new to add to my resume

As most know, I've been trying to sell the business for a while. I had a buyer but unfortunately it fell through and my time here is up. I'm shifting from selling the business to selling the permit and my last day of business will be coming soon. July 4th will be my last holiday here. I will maintain beer, seltzer etc inventory through that time. There are too many variables to be able to announce the exact final date yet.

There are tight restrictions on liquor prices that I must follow but there will still be some great bargains as I reduce inventory.

Due to the fact bottle deposit returns are picked up by our drivers when they deliver and our deliveries are coming to an end, Thursday 6/28 will be the last day we can accept them. Also, please redeem any outstanding gift certificates as soon as possible.

If anyone would like to speak to me about purchasing the permit please feel free to reach out but I can not respond to questions about the equipment at this time. I'm still maxed out on my time for the next little bit while I continue operations.

Good Monday morning! Fresh start to the week... Some of the rumors have gotten back to me. I am aware people have been seen in the store and things have been overheard but I'm still the owner. Due to a substantial unforeseen increase in the lease terms, I have been unable to close the deal with a buyer. Until a solution works out, I'm still here. In anticipation of an ownership change, I have reduced inventory. I'm still getting regular deliveries but don't have full cases of back ups of certain products. If you will be needing a large quantity of something specific for an event, pre ordering is a good idea. If you don't need a specific brand, the shelves are all still full. Thanks for the support. I wanted to point out that our hours have changed. I apologize as I know this won't thrill everyone but it is what I have to do at this time. I greatly appreciate all of you that continue to support my business. If you need something and it can't wait until I'm open, I ask you to please consider keeping business in town and support either Marindinos Spirits or The River Wine and Spirits. Since the loss of the New Hartford House it is sad to see so many people heading out of town to areas like Canton to do their errands. While it's understandable (there are wonderful shops there), please consider shopping local when you are able.

We are grateful for the freedom we have because of those that lost it all serving our country. We honor them on Memorial Day. I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. I am closing at 3 to exercise my freedom to go fishing. 🎣🇺🇲

Just a reminder that although this is a holiday weekend and today may feel like a Saturday, it is in fact a Sunday so we must follow state laws for Sunday hours. Every year a few forget and are very disappointed at 7 at night when no stores are allowed to be open.

Good morning everyone! This is Jenn. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I'll be at the store right through until 9PM tonight if you need any help picking out gifts for Mom. Perhaps you could mix her up some Sangria or Mimosas with fresh OJ. To those still living with mom, I highly recommend cleaning the bathroom and kitchen for her. Moms love that stuff especially wjen she doesn't have to ask anyone to do it! As a reminder, our Sunday hours are 12-5. I can not open early tomorrow because I'll be enjoying a morning with my kids before I head in for the day. Whatever you do this weekend, I hope it is a happy and safe one for you.

Sancerre is a pretty amazing wine. If you haven't tried it but enjoy a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, this one is worth checking out. An amazing balance of crispness and citrus. A couple years ago they became more popular than ever and therefore became hard to come by and more costly. We were just able to get on some of the 2022 vintage at amazing quality for the price. I'm super impressed with this one. An outstanding option for warm days ahead.

Please excuse the construction debris out front. Our feathered neighbors are under a very tight deadline to complete these projects upstairs. Due to the fact they are not subject to OSHA regulations and are so busy, they sometimes leave building materials laying around. We do not want to impeed their progess so we will not be sweeping the sidewalk. I encourage you to check out their great construction techniques but caution you to be careful of falling white liquids as they have not updated their MSDS sheets.

Just a message to my fellow parents.... prom season is here and our college students are coming home. Many students are coming home with some really legit looking fake IDs..... Seriously good ones. I've seen multiple from Barkhamsted and New Hartford kids. All they need is $50 and a photo to get one. What your rules are in your house is your business but if your child, over 18 years old and legally an adult or not, is going out in a vehicle and is under the influence you need it to be your business. Having them annoyed with you asking questions and looking for a fake ID is a lot better than them being dead or killing someone else. Our NWR7 juniors are headed to prom this upcoming Saturday. It looks like the weather will finally include some sunshine. We want that evening and all the beautiful summer nights ahead to be ones of great fun for our kids. Ask questions, stay in your kids business, be the mean Mom/ Dad and let them know to never hesitate to call for a ride if they find themselves in a bad position.

Hartford Distribitors is here nice and early this morning to load us up. Stock up on your essentials before the storm. If shoveling your driveway, I recommend strategically leaving cans of beer out before the snow so as you shovel you can dig out your rewards. Adds a little motivation. We will be open all day today and of course tomorrow unless we have no power.
