On this day in 1953, Andy Griffith recorded "What it was was Football" in Raleigh, NC.

This skit jump started his career as an Actor and Comedian.

Less than 7 years later the Andy Griffith show was televised and Andy Grifftih became a household name around the world.

We should all celebrate how it all began 70 years ago today by drinking a big Orange Drink in his honor.

Thank you Andy for putting Mt. Airy, NC aka "Mayberry" on the map.
You were one of the great ones and your legacy carries on.
We hope for future generations to see.

Join us at Wally's Service Station and Squad Car Tours this weekend for the Autumn Leaves Festival.
Woodland Baptist Church will be selling food for a benefit for our church member for medical expenses.

If you aren't hungry, then feel free to make a donation. Every little bit helps. 😉

They will be selling pinto beans, BBQ sandwiches, and hot dogs. They will be set up today from 11-6.

Also we have Blue Grass music playing at the Darlings Cabin located behind Wally's Service Station .

Highway 268 playing from 11:00am - 1:00pm

Short Notice playing 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Steve Marshall & High Road 3:00pm - 5:00pm

Bring a chair and stay awhile.
