Ladies and Gentleman, Lodegas is closing up shop. Over the last 8 weeks we’ve processed over 400 transactions, and you’ve supported the 75 makers on Lodegas. While we won’t be continuing beyond our Beta, we are giving you one last opportunity to have locally-made meals, unique condiments, artisanal sweets, and more delivered to your front door, all for $1.

At only 5ft Soleil Ramirez is tiny but mighty in the kitchen. The Venezuelan Chef and owner of Arepa Bar left Caracas, Venezuela and moved to Minnesota in 2016 to continue pursuing her culinary dreams.

After graduating with a business degree en 2009, she decided she would completely dive into what her passion really is: food. Since then, she has acquired multiple degrees and lots of experience in the service industry from places like Venezuela, Colombia and US. Her latest role was as Chef de Cuisine at a prominent restaurant in Saint Paul, MN. There, she oversaw a staff of over 50 people as the only Latin woman in the cities to hold that position in over 10 years.

Arepa Bar is Soleil's next and greatest adventure. Here, we want the world to know the amazing food Venezuela has to offer. Well, when Chad and Claire Simons' son came home with a cricket cookie on Earth Day, he realized entomophagy could play a significant role in healing our planet and he wanted to become a part of the movement. We sent out surveys to all the foodies who joined our list, and many told us they were looking for the coolest local foods and chef services they could find in the Twin Cities, all in one place. Here's the good news: Lodegas.

Lodegas is built around this very simple idea: most people can't get their products in grocery stores (even well-known chefs), and because of all it takes to make it happen, others prefer to avoid the headache. Instead, we offer an alternative: an online marketplace selling local chef and makers foods and services, direct to consumers (or as we've called them: foodies), with $8** delivery once a week.

We know we've been talking about this for months now, but we're very close. Makers are currently stocking our digital shelf space while the team ensures a smooth checkout process will be had. We look forward to a big announcement coming soon. Until then, Happy Pride, welcome all Swifties, and we'll see you next week.

With years spent learning the culinary world and countless hours in the kitchen, Alex and his wife, Kate, knew they wanted to build a life around their passion.

Alex’s love for hand-crafting fresh pasta, which he learned at a young age, led them to start their own pasta business —Aliment Pasta Co.

Located in the Food Building in NE Minneapolis, Alex uses stone-milled flour, heritage grains, and seasonal ingredients to craft amazing pasta you’ll soon be able to have delivered to your doorstep via Lodegas

One of seven siblings, chef was born in a Thai refugee camp where he lived until his family resettled in central Wisconsin. A trained chef who started his career working as a dishwasher, he uses food to tell a story and believes that every dish has a narrative. Yia brings Hmong flavors to American palates and invites people to change how they think about food by considering the influences in each bite.

We are excited to be featuring Chef Vang’s seasonal Hmong flavors on Lodegas beginning this summer. Stay tuned.
