Ice fishing rule #1 - Safety!!! Always go with someone or make sure family know where you are going.

Guys went through again at Marilla Reservoir yesterday.

Some areas may be ok but other areas are not. Spud before you step and pay attention to the area around you.

I just received the following message from Mr Griswold and he asked that we pass the information on:

Can you please put a post out there about Marilla it does not have safe ice we were out today and we had 2 people in are group fall through the ice

Everyone made it off n they are safe.

A little thin layer of ice has started on Dunkles and Sugar Bay but by no means is it safe at all - rocks go right thru. With the upcoming temps this week some areas should be safe come Saturday. We will keep you posted on ice conditions. Stay safe everyone.

For those looking for an ice update on Kinzua..

What couple inches that is at Dunkles is surrounded by no shore ice and with warm up and 1 inch plus in rain coming in definitely won't be worth throwing a ladder out to only be out there on the ice when the water starts rising.

Starts to look promising after the first week of January so let's enjoy the rest of 2024 with friends and family and hopefully we can start the beginning of 2025 out with some temps to make ice.

Reservoir temp is 38 degrees and water is already rising.
