Banana Bread Brownies πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸŒπŸŒ
Ingredients:
β€’ 1-1/2 cups sugar
β€’ 1 cup sour cream
β€’ 1/2 cup butter
β€’ 2 eggs
β€’ 4 ripe bananas, mashed
β€’ 2 tsp vanilla extract
β€’ 2 cups all-purpose flour
β€’ 1 tsp baking soda
β€’ 3/4 tsp salt
β€’ 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Ingredients for Brown Butter Frosting:
β€’ 1/2 cup butter
β€’ 4 cups powdered sugar
β€’ 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
β€’ 3 Tbsp milk
Instructions:
1. I preheat the oven to 375Β°F and prepare a 15x10-inch jelly roll pan by greasing and flouring it.
2. For the brownies, I beat together sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs in a large bowl until the mixture becomes creamy. Then, I incorporate the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
3. Next, I add flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl, blending everything for about 1 minute. I stir in the chopped walnuts as the final step.
4. I evenly spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake it for 20 to 25 minutes or until it achieves a golden brown color.
5. While the brownies are baking, I prepare the frosting. In a large saucepan over medium heat, I melt 1/2 cup of butter until it starts boiling. I let the butter turn a delicate brown and then promptly remove it from the heat.
6. To the browned butter, I add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. I whisk the ingredients until smooth, ensuring the consistency is thicker than a glaze but thinner than frosting.
7. Using a spatula, I spread the brown butter frosting over the warm bars. It's easier to spread the frosting while the bars are still warm.
