La Instructora Perfection Petit Salomon are produced in the Dominican Republic, at Jose “Jochy” Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma factory. The brand consists of the Perfection Line and the Box Pressed Line, characterized by a band that refers to the paintings of Jackson Po***ck. The name of the brand at first glance seems to be missing on the band, but by turning the cigar against the light, you can see that the name is embossed

This week 11/10-11/16/24 our featured cigar of the week is the La Galera Habano by Indianhead Cigar Company. All La Galera Habano ci**rs will be 20% off this week.

Ever heard of Jochy Blanco? You should have. He’s a fourth generation to***co grower and cigar manufacturer in the Dominican Republic, and his Tabacalera Palma factory was one of the first established factories in this country many years ago. He grows some of the finest Dominican To***co out there and has been producing ci**rs for countless other brands that you’ve likely enjoyed before. In 2016, Jochy decided it was time to create a brand of his own to be the new flagship brand of Tabacalera Palma, and La Galera Ci**rs were born.

If you’re the type that pays attention to the presentation, La Galera Habano does it incredibly well – from the band artwork to the box – it’s a beautiful cigar. And the to***cos used are just as good. La Galera only uses proprietary, aged to***cos grown on Jochy’s farms in the Cibao Valley, with the only exception for wrapper leaf. In this case, an Ecuador Habano wrapper is applied atop a Dominican Corojo binder and Piloto Cubano, Criollo 98, and Pelo de Oro long-fillers. It falls in the medium-bodied spectrum but is full on flavor, with heavy notes of pepper, some earth, wood, and a touch of fruity sweetness. These ci**rs are by no means cheap, but for the quality to***co and construction.

Good news! La Galera Habano has received numerous 91-point ratings. One review noted: "Draped in a dark, toothy wrapper, this cigar starts spicy and leathery but warms to show big notes of vanilla, nuts and tangy wood. A rich, brawny cigar."

San Lotano Dominicano is handmade in the Dominican Republic and blended by boutique cigar-maker AJ Fernandez. A reddish-brown Brazilian wrapper leaf embraces a medium-bodied recipe of Dominican and Nicaraguan binder and filler to***cos in a collection of traditional shapes. Tasting notes of fresh ground coffee, caramel, licorice, and cocoa beans emerge before a toasted finish. Produced in the Dominican Republic, Le Careme is wrapped in a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Right off the bat you’ll notice a strong earthy note followed by rich fruit, nuts and cocoa. Black Pepper joins the mix here and there but isn’t overwhelming. Reminiscent of a chocolate soufflé, there’s a sweet spot on everyone’s palate waiting to be hit with Le Careme. Receiving high praise from Crowned Heads fans, this is a cigar you don’t want to pass up on.

This week 9/15-9/21/24 our featured cigar of the week is the New World Puro Especial by AJ Fernandez. This cigar will be 20% off this whole week.

New World Puro Especial is a popular New World line by AJ Fernandez. The blend was developed by AJ Fernandez and and his father, Ismael, over the course of several years using to***cos exclusively from Fernandez-owned farms in Nicaragua, all of which have been aged three to five years. The wrapper, binder, and filler all come from different farms in order to provide different aspects to the cigar in terms or flavor, aroma and mineral qualities.

While AJ is typically known for his fuller-bodied offerings, New World Puro Especial weighs in at more of a medium body. And it's a real winner of a blend. In fact, this cigar saw limited release before but AJ liked the blend so much he decided to go national with it. You can expect this gem to be medium-bodied and perfectly balanced, with notes of nuts and a sweet finish.

New World Puro Especial has received a 93-rating, and earned a spot in the Top 25 Ci**rs of 2017.

This week 9/1-9/7/24 our featured cigar of the week is the Mas Igneus by Luciano Cigar Company. All Mas Igneus ci**rs will be 20% off this whole week.

The line is called Mas Igneus, which comes from a Catalan expression meaning “house of ignition” and which is shared by a winery in the Priorat region of Spain. If the name sounds familiar, ACE Prime’s president and co-founder, Luciano Meirelles, is a partner in the winery along with Jerome and Ornella Valcke, and in November 2021, the trio announced they had created a wine to complement ACE Prime’s Luciano The Dreamer cigar.

The Mas Igneus blend features a high priming, Ecuadorian corojo 98 wrapper, a Brazilian binder, and fillers from Nicaragua. The to***cos in the filler were selected for offering a balanced pH level that is designed to not only create an outstanding cigar on its own, but one that is designed to be a perfect match for the “M” wine from the Mas Igneus winery. To do that, Meirelles and the ACE Prime team adapted a chemistry kit to help them select filler to***cos that match the pH of the wine.

The Y Panda line was co-blended by Linxu "Panda" Yan and Luciano Meirelles, founder of Luciano Ci**rs, and is made with an Ecuadorian corojo 98 wrapper covering a double binder of Brazilian arapiraca and Ecuadorian Sumatra to***cos. In addition, the filler incorporates to***co grown in Nicaragua, specifically viso from Jalapa and seco from Estelí, a combination that the company says operates as the yin and yang, offering “edgy sweetness, mild flavors brought to life with slight strength to the seasoned palate.

Some new goodies on the shelf. The La Instructora Delicado by **rs is a mild Dominican Connecticut cigar that is not lacking in flavor. It's made in the Tabacalera Palma owned by Jochy Blanco.

Also recently arrived in the Dias de Gloria Brazil by AJ Fernandez. This full bodied cigar uses Mata Fina to***co from Brazil. **rs
