UPDATE: FUNERAL HAS BEEN MOVED TO BOONE FUNERAL HOME IN GREENVILLE.
Funeral services for Bruce Wayne Craig, Jr. will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
On the evening of Sunday, May 28, Bruce Wayne Craig, Jr., age 53, and ever the adventurous soul, unexpectedly passed due to injuries incurred during a tragic accident. He was a best friend, confidante, and mentor to many. Offering up words of wisdom like, “I can tell you what you need to do, but I can’t tell you what you want to do.” And if you ever heard “Well, look here…” you knew he was going to drop some hard truths you may not be prepared for. Many will remember him for his quick wit and take no… attitude. He was the friend you could count on through thick or thin. He always had a knack for finding the person who needed the most help, the down, and outs. He loved supporting and helping them get on the right path. He would put everything he had into pushing them to be better.
Many of those he helped would end up working with him. A master electrician at Scott Electric for 32 years, he was devoted to his profession. According to him, he wired most of Greenville, Cleveland, and Memphis, Tennessee and no one would ever argue that. He treated work like an extreme sport. He is fondly remembered by his children for coming home with pockets full of jolly ranchers as compensation for missing dinner. He was always forgiven.
Bruce is survived by his amazing wife of 32 years, Rene Craig, his two children, favorite Brett Craig (Haley) and Christin Boyette (Dustin), but, most importantly, his granddaughter, Paisley Craig, for whom his world revolved around. Brett became the favorite by having Paisley. He would tell anyone who listened about his Boogie Woogie and how she had changed him for the better. Bruce leaves behind an abundance of loving siblings including sisters, Crickett Craig, Belle Star, and brothers, Nic (Stephanie) Craig, Maxx (Melyssa) Hudec, and Daniel Bolin. Bruce had a host of nieces and nephews that looked up to him as a father figure that will miss him dearly. He helped raise half of Greenville. It is yet to be determined if that was a good thing or not.
He was welcomed into heaven by his daughter, Britney Craig, sister, Jessica Craig-Halgunseth, mother, Debbie Dean, and father, Bruce Wayne Craig, Sr.
There will be a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Bruce was a huge Tennessee Vols fan. In his memory, the family will be wearing orange and extends this to whoever would like to participate. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to a charity of your choice in his name.
Bruce ran on “Craig Time”. As much as it was a joke, we are hoping he won’t be late to his own funeral. Fly high, Ole Blue Eyes.
