Barbara D. Brill passed away peacefully at Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, New Hampshire and went home to be with her Lord on July 5, 2025, following a period of failing health.
Barbara was born in Hanover, New Hampshire, on March 31, 1939, to Wilbur D. and Ruth B. Drake. She attended Claremont schools and graduated from Stevens High School as part of the Class of 1957. On November 27, 1959, she married Milo H. Brill, who was serving in the United States Army at the time. For more than twenty years, she travelled with her husband to various Army assignments, living on military bases in Germany, Ethiopia, Kentucky (her favorite), California, Massachusetts, Washington, and Michigan. Following Master Sargent Brill’s retirement from the Army in 1980, the couple returned to Claremont.
Over the course of her work life Barbara was recognized for her skills as a secretary and typist in the administrative positions she held at each location where her husband was stationed. Her career included roles as a legal secretary and administrative assistant, culminating in her retirement in 2004 as a medical administrative assistant with the Veterans Administration in White River Junction, Vermont.
Barbara’s strong faith was integral to her life and provided her with comfort during challenging times, particularly after the passing of her husband, Milo, in 2009. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; brothers Donald Hill and Wilbur (Bill) R. Drake; sisters Irene Demars, Madlyn Hill, Gloria Neun, Juanita Hill, and Edith Tanzi.
She is survived by her late brother Bill’s sons, David (Carrie) Drake of Glasford, Illinois, and Jeffrey Drake of Brimfield, Illinois; Sandra Brown (Ralph) of Brownsville, Vermont, and their families. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Gordon (Barbara) Brill of Unity, New Hampshire and their family, as well as number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30AM on July 14, 2025, at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, New Hampshire, where Barbara will be laid to rest beside her husband.
The family extends its sincere appreciation to the staff of Sullivan County Health Care for their dedicated care and kindness during Barbara’s nearly five years living there following her stroke in 2020.

Baby Ruby Joyce Cormier, beloved daughter of Molly and Solomon Cormier, passed away on July 3rd at Boston Children’s Hospital, after a two week battle with Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH). Though her time in this world was brief, she was loved by many and was surrounded by loving family for her entire life. She found favor wherever she went, as even the doctors and nurses caring for her would comment on her undeniable cuteness. We will forever remember and cherish Ruby’s memory and look forward to seeing her again in heaven.

A funeral service will be held at Riverstone Church in Claremont, New Hampshire on Saturday July 12, 2025 at 10AM followed by burial and reception in Lempster NH. Flowers or cards may be sent to 117 Lempster Street, Lempster NH 03605.

Roger Malcolm Wright Jr., a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Claremont, New Hampshire, at the age of 64. Born on January 19, 1961, in Claremont, he was the son of the late Roger Wright Sr. and Virginia Ann (Cook) Wright. Roger's family and friends remember him for his profound love of life, his unwavering spirit, and his dedication to community service.

Roger is survived by his cherished children, Derrik Wright and Regina Wright-Gadway, as well as his loving sister, Barbara Walsh. He also held dear the relationships he maintained with his previous stepchildren, Tim Chapin, Christina Chapin, and Stacy Chapin. His legacy is further enriched by his beloved nieces and nephews, Kyle Chapin and Jessica Morin, and the laughter and joy brought to his life by his 14 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and all four of his grandparents, leaving behind a family that will forever celebrate his memory.

From a young age, Roger was captivated by the thrill of snowmobiling, a passion sparked in 1968 when his father introduced him to the sport. At just seven years old, he began riding his father's snowmobile, traversing the fields near their home. This early love for adventure propelled him into a life of dedication to the snowmobiling community. Over the decades, he held numerous positions within the Shugah Valley Snow Riders and the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association, culminating in roles as President and Chair of various committees. His efforts were instrumental in the growth and success of the NH Grass Drags event, which expanded significantly under his leadership, drawing competitors and fans from across the globe.

Roger's professional journey was as diverse as his hobbies. He was a country music artist, a skilled motorcycle mechanic, a welder, and a sales representative with Crown Point Cabinetry. He eventually became the Owner and President of Ro-ick Transport Inc. in 1998, where he built lasting relationships in business and the community.

The impact Roger made on the lives of those around him cannot be overstated. His contributions to the snowmobile community and his unwavering support for those he loved are a testament to a life well-lived. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and generous spirit will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Roger at the Cornish Fair Grounds on July 19, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM. Address- 294 Town House Road, Cornish, NH 03745. All who knew him and loved him are invited to join in remembering a man who dedicated his life to family, friends, and the pursuit of passion in all its forms.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association in Roger's memory, continuing his legacy of passionate community service.

Patricia (Ruest) Baker�February 3, 1948 – June 30, 2025
Patricia Baker, 77, of Haines City, Florida and formerly of Charlestown, New Hampshire, left this earth on June 30, 2025.
Born on February 3, 1948 in Claremont, New Hampshire, Patricia was a devoted wife and creative spirit. She and her husband, Bob, shared many wonderful years together and, in their later chapter of life, built a welcoming new community of friends in Haines City.
Patricia was a long-time loyal employee of the Sturm R***r company in Newport, New Hampshire. For nearly thirty years she assisted others as a customer service representative. Patricia had a passion for knitting and crocheting, using her skills to create beautiful handmade items that she regularly donated to children. Whether it was a soft blanket, slippers or a cheerful hat, her work brought comfort and joy to countless young lives.
She is survived by her husband Robert Baker, her daughter Becky Herrington and her husband John Herrington of Green Valley, Arizona, her brother Richard Ruest and sister-in-law Jacqui Ruest of Ludlow, Massachusetts, her step-daughter Jennifer Joyner and granddaughters Jade and Aniyah of Northfield, Vermont, her granddaughter Brandy Ward and her partner Justin Kastanko of Lee, New Hampshire, her niece Andrea Ruest of Indian Orchard, Massachusetts and nephew Anthony Ruest and his wife Heather Ruest of Green Cove Springs, Florida, and was preceded in death by her daughter Sheri Hess of Davenport, Florida and her grandson Tyler Howard of Peterborough, New Hampshire.
Patricia’s kindness, creativity, and saucy attitude will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Her handmade gifts and heartfelt friendships were lasting testaments to a life well lived.
A funeral service will be held in Claremont, New Hampshire.

Lee Mary Collins (Hoyt)

Lee Mary (Hoyt) Collins the Daughter of the late Wilburn Lee Hoyt and Rose Lois (Burbee) Hoyt died at home June 29, 2025. Lee was born December 17, 1944, in Claremont, NH and has resided in Leeds, MA, since 1973.
Lee graduated from Stevens High School in 1962 and Northampton Commercial College in 1964. She worked at Mass Mutual, typed for court reporters, worked for Dependable Business Alternatives, and was a temporary employee at other companies, as well as an Avon Representative.
Her favorite job was raising her children and babysitting, especially babies. Lee enjoyed being behind the wheel traveling, knitting, gardening, flowers, and picnics. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lee was predeceased by her husband and soul mate, Don Collins, sister Lois and nephew John Hoyt. She is survived by her brother Sidney Hoyt, and children: Dwight, Mary, Tanya, Kati, and Dana. Stepchildren Kevin, Tim, and Sheila, 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and nieces Debbie, Carole, Tammy, and Cathy.
Special appreciation to Phil for providing 24/hour care so Lee could remain at home. And Lee’s first husband, Ernie Whitney, whose friendship and kindness were always appreciated by Lee and all her children.
Casual graveside gathering 10 am July 7, 2025, at West Claremont Burying Grounds, Claremont, NH. Picnic 2 pm at Look Memorial Park’s Westwoods Pavilion, Florence, MA. Please dress comfortably, preferably in purple – Lee’s favorite color.

Lawrence "Larry" Deome, formerly of Memorial Drive in Claremont, NH, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 26, 2025. Born on August 30, 1942, Larry was a cherished member of his community and family.

Larry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda (Thurlow), with whom he shared a beautiful marriage since June 17, 1961. He is survived by his son, Steven Deome, and two daughters, Debra Leonard and Donna Little, all residing in Claremont. Larry was a proud grandfather to Ryan Pinsonault and Sara Fry, and a great-grandfather to Wyatt Fry and Kayman Root. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Deome, sister, Corleen Adams, and several nieces and nephews.

Larry worked for Tambrands until the company closed, at which point he retired. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing horseshoes, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont. Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Richard Edward Tremblay, born on February 29, 1944, in Lewiston, ME, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Claremont, NH. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Tremblay and Vivian (Roy) Tremblay. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Anne (McEntee) Tremblay, and his daughters, Rosanne and her husband Joseph Elridge, Nicole Matto, and Kristen Bergeon. He was a proud grandfather to his grandsons, Josh, RJ, and Dean, and also leaves behind great-grandchildren, as well as a niece and nephew. A former Vietnam army veteran, Richard's legacy of service and dedication will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held in the New Hampshire Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Wednesday June 25th at 3 PM.

Eleanor "Ellie" Mae (LeClair) Jones of 19 Skyline Terrace Claremont, New Hampshire passed away suddenly and peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and her much loved cat Taeng. Ellie was born April 15,1934 on her family's farm on Chestnut St. Ext. in Claremont, New Hampshire to Alexander LeClair Sr. and Roseanna (Dansereau) LeClair. Ellie was the youngest child of her brothers and sisters, Jean, Alexander Jr., Richard, and Carolyn. Brought up in Norwood Massachusetts and in Claremont, Ellie and her family split their time between both homes while her Father was on special assignment in Boston during WWII. She attended schools in Norwood Mass. and Claremont, New Hampshire returning her Junior year to Claremont and graduating from Steven's High School her Senior year with the class of 1952.
Ellie enjoyed a long and satisfying career with the then American Telephone and Telegraph Company starting as a Switchboard Operator during her high school years, then later as a Repair Clerk in the Repair Department on Broad St in Claremont. Ellie retired from the New England Telephone Compan1979, making many close and lifelong friends during her time at "Ma Bell".
Ellie married Robert T. Jones and together they celebrated 69 years of marriage until his passing in August of 2023. They shared many interests, a few of which were riding motorcycles, attending NASCAR races at Loudon, and traveling out west and throughout the country to many of the National Parks. Ellie and Bob were talented ballroom dancers; enjoying many Saturday nights dancing with friends at various music hall venues and ballrooms throughout NH. Ellie had a passion for gardening, her beautiful window boxes, flower, and vegetable gardens at her home on Green Mt. were admired by all who visited. Her proudest gardening moment was when she earned Third place in a national contest from the Better Homes and Gardens, publishers of her Rock Garden she designed. Ellie also liked to entertain, and enjoyed a good party, she was a wonderful hostess, cook, and had a knack for baking; She had an infectious laugh that could be heard all over the neighborhood and at times would get all the dogs on the mountain barking, which made her laugh even louder. She adored her cats and dogs, and many were rescues and or "drop offs" at her home, knowing she had a kind and caring heart for animals. Ellie was blessed with numerous artistic talents, particularly oil and Toll painting ,along with ceramic arts. Many of her artistic creations were given to family and friends as treasured gifts. Ellie enjoyed travel and among her favorite adventures were tours of Rome, France and Portugal and also the scenic cruises through the Hawaiian islands, and an unforgettable voyage to Alaska.
She was a communicant of St Mary's Church, a proud member and Past Grand Regent of Court Virgil H. Barber #892 Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Surviving family includes her daughter, Julie A. Jones Roberts of Claremont; her son, Eric P. Jones of Lebanon N.H.; two grandchildren, Scott P. Roberts (Christina ) of South Portland, Maine, and Kyle M. Roberts ( Alexis ) Claremont; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law John "Jack "Jones (Dianna) Houston Texas, and many close nieces, nephews, and their children and cousins.
Ellie was predeceased by her husband Robert T. Jones, son Thomas Jones, her parents Alex Sr. and Roseanna LeClair, siblings Jean LeClair LaPlante, (Leo); Alex Jr LeClair (Marge); Richard LeClair (Mary); Carolyn LeClair Sheehan (Thomas).

Ellie wished to have a graveside service only at St. Mary Cemetery, and will be celebrated on Saturday morning, June 21st at Eleven O'clock A.M.
Family suggests that if one would like to donate in her memory to do so to the charity of their choice.

Barbara J. Harding, 76, passed on May 26, 2025 at home after a 1 1/2-year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She lived every day fighting for a longer life.
She was born March 14,1949 at home in Proctorsville, VT to Arnold and Irene (Hale) Martin. She was their 2nd child first being Wilbur, then after Barbara followed Leo Sr, Ginger and then Helen. She was a graduate of the Towle High School, Newport N.H.
On October 21, 1967, she married the love of her life, James C. Harding. They were married in Newport, NH. With the marriage, she gained two stepdaughters, Vicky and Tracey and a year after their marriage she gave birth to their daughter, Wendy. They raised their family in Wendell, NH and later settled in Croydon, NH.
Barbara worked at many locations around Newport including Hartford Eichenauer, Encore Shoe and retired from R***r.
She was a race car fan for many years. Following her husband's races, then her son-in-law Brett's and most recently her grandson, James for whom she was one of his greatest supporters. She could also be found cheering on nephews, Keith, Leo Jr, Brian, and Colton and other family and friends. She was a fan of Nascar's Jeff Gordon.
She was a crocheter and made baby blankets for many baby showers. She loved Bingo and most recently played at the VFW in Charlestown, NH. Barbara also enjoyed the casino and slot machines and would take bus trips to Foxwood with family and friends. She was also an Elvis fan.
Barbara was an excellent cook and baker. Most favorite dishes requested were her homemade donuts, bread pudding and pumpkin rolls. Her grandson, Brenden spent an afternoon with her recently, learning how to make her homemade donuts, which was quite the highlight for her. She often made desserts for the races and you would find friends coming to the trailer to see what "goodies" Barbara had made for the week.
Barbara and Jim had a memorial RV trip after her retirement. They traveled around the country visiting friends in Kentucky and Florida, enjoying many attractions on the way. One of the places she looked forward to visiting and enjoyed was Paula Deen's restaurant in Savanna, GA. They also traveled to Yellowstone National Park with their RV enjoying the sights and adventures. They later bought a winter home in Russell Springs, KY. Enjoying the winter with old and new friends. Unfortunately, with the travel restrictions with COVID they decided to move back to be closer to family.
Barbara is predeceased by her father and mother and her sister, Ginger (Martin) Shampney. She is survived by her husband, James, daughter, Wendy Fadden (Brett), stepdaughters, Vicky Cooper (David), and Tracey Norris (Brent). She had 7 beloved grandchildren: Hillary, Ian, James, Connor, Garrett, Brenden, Jenna and 4 beloved great grandchildren: Myah, Emery, Arya and James. She is also survived by her brothers, Wilbur Martin, and Leo Martin Sr (Charlotte), and a sister, Helen Macedo (Russell) and by many nieces and nephews.
There will be a service at the Croydon Flat Church, 29 Croydon Tpke Rd., Croydon, NH on June 22, 2025 at 3 pm followed by a celebration of life at the Croydon Volunteer Fire station, Rt 10 Croydon, NH.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chris Allan Thompson, on Thursday, June 5th, 2025 surrounded by his immediate family in Sunapee, NH. Chris had just turned 74 and showed tremendous strength during his lengthy battle with cancer. Chris touched the lives of all who knew him with his warm spirit, unwavering dedication, and passion for life. We will miss him tremendously.
Chris was born in Ravenna, Ohio and graduated high school in Windsor, Vermont. After attending the National School of Meat Cutting he married Darlene Vivian and had two children, Melissa and Christopher. Chris spent most of his working years as either a meat manager or instrumentation ngineer and retired in 2013.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Darlene, and is predeceased in death, by his parents Elizabeth and Perry, and In-Laws Gladys Lee and Charles Vivian. He is survived by his cherished children, Melissa Barnett, and her husband Perry; and Christopher Thompson, and his wife, Catherine. He adored his grandchildren, Julia Blackburn, Emma Thompson-Stone, Ava and Aidan McNamara and Sarah Nichols along with several great grandchildren, Lilly, Parker and William. Chris had a profound love for his family and took great pride in being a devoted father and papa.
He is also survived by relatives that greatly supported our recent need: Brother Nathan Thompson, Sister Judy Shepherd, BIL’s Charles, Richard, and Michael Vivian. Too many important family and friends throughout his life to name all of whom were touched by his humor and warm demeanor.
Throughout his life, Chris was known for his work ethic and diverse “jack-of-all-trades” skills. He dedicated many years as a butcher, musician, carpenter, engineer, and store owner, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike. His love for music started at an early age of 12 when he played in bands and continued to play throughout his life. His hands were always busy, whether in the garage, on the land, tickling the ivory’s on his keyboard, boating on lakes and seas, building homes, playing pickleball or tending to family projects, reflecting his passion for friends and family or being in nature.
Chris found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as eating sweet treats, camping, boating, family gathering’s, playing with his bandmates, and caring for his many loyal companion animals over the years. These activities not only brought him happiness but also served as cherished moments shared with family and friends.
Chris’s life was characterized by his deep love for family, his dedication to his trades, and his passion for the outdoors. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love, and he will be sorely missed by all who had the fortune to know him.
As we celebrate the life of Chris Thompson, we remember a man who made a lasting impact on many lives. His warmth, humor, kindness, and winning smile will forever remain in our hearts as we honor his memory. Services will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH on Thursday, June 12th. There will be a visiting hour from 1 to 2 pm followed by a service immediately thereafter at Stringers. Graveside will follow concurrent with refreshments being provided at Trinity church.
Rest in peace, CAT. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Sullivan County Humane Society.

Ida “Pinky” Gobin Chamberlain died peacefully on June 1st at the age of 103while residing at the Sullivan County Home. Pinky was born on May 12, 1922 in Newport N.H. to the late Merton and Mae Gobin. She graduated from Towle High School in 1939. In her youth she was a champion acrobat and performed all over the state. She was very proud of this.

She married Ernest Chamberlain on April 18,1942 in St Patrick Catholic Church in Newport NH. During WW II she followed her husband around the country to various Army training camps until he left for the Pacific. During WWII she worked at the Newport Clothing Company making overcoats for the U S Army.

When her husband returned from WW II they made their home in Claremont and raised their two children. She was a loving mother and grandmother always taking time for her grandsons. She was a beautiful seamstress and took pride in her work. In 1996 they moved to Deland FL and she was very active at the YMCA. In 2017 she returned to Charlestown NH to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

Pinky is survived by her son Ernest “Budd” Chamberlain and wife Mary. A daughter Bonnie Chamberlain Eno and husband Victor. Four grandsons Mark Eno ( wife Heather), Jason Eno ( wife Elizabeth) , Ross Chamberlain ( wife Jamie), Dana Chamberlain. Four great grandchildren Dylan Eno , Lily Eno, Addy Eno and Cameron Chamberlain. A sister Alice Blanchette and also several nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest, her brother Robert Gobin and sister Ann Farwell.

Thank you to the Sullivan County Home for the loving care they gave her.

Pinky enjoy that Glass of Cream Sherry in heaven today. God Bless you we love and miss you.

There will be no visting hours and a graveside service will be at the St Mary Cemetery at a later date.

Halford Eugene Jones, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on June 4, 2025, at the age of 88.
Halford was born on November 25, 1936, in Windsor, VT, to Halford E. Jones Sr. and Violet Dubois. He spent his early years in Claremont, NH with his sister Noreen, where he graduated from Stevens High School in 1954. He then studied at the University of New Hampshire, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1958. After college, he served in the U.S. Army for four years and later joined the Peace Corps. While stationed in the Philippines, Halford taught elementary and high school students. It was there that he began his family with his wife.
After returning from the Philippines, Halford settled in Claremont, NH with his family. He worked as a corrections officer at the Sullivan County Department of Corrections. He later served as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service in White River Junction, VT, retiring after 22 years of service.
Halford was known for his passion for martial arts, specializing in Arnis (Filipino stick fighting). He held a 7th Dan black belt and co-founded the National Institute of Modern Martial Arts (NIMMA). He also enjoyed visiting museums, hiking, and volunteering as a television producer for CCTV8, a local access station in White River Junction.
He was married to his wife, Emelda Revillia Jones, for 58 years. Together, they had three children: Frank, James, and the late Noreen. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law, Kimberlee and Catherine, and his grandchildren: Nicole, Sydney, Nathan, Alex, Makayla, and Harper.
Viewing hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home on June 10, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church on June 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by graveside services at Union Cemetery.
