🎉 We are excited to hear from Carrie Sawulski, PT, PCS, and Alexandra Robins, MS, OTR/L, CNT, NTMTC as they present at NANT 15:
“Establishing Neuroprotection From Day of Life 1: The Elemental Role of Neonatal Therapy in the NICU Extremely Low Birth Weight (ELBW) Admission Process”
With increased awareness of brain fragility during critical periods, neonatal therapy plays a vital role in supporting neurodevelopmental outcomes from the very first moments of life. 🌱 By minimizing stress and pain, optimizing positioning, and fostering family involvement, therapists are essential in promoting comfort, stability, and developmental care in the Golden Hour. ⏳💖
This presentation will highlight the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, the role of therapists in reducing IVH rates, and how developmental care during admission can shift the culture of care in the NICU. 💡
Don’t miss out on this invaluable opportunity to learn at NANT 15 in March! If you haven’t already, be sure to register today! 📝✨

📚 Excellence is About Life-Long Learning. 📚
The NICU environment is ever-changing! New technology, new evidence, and a constant flow of new people.
Delivering excellence in neonatal therapy requires a commitment to ongoing education and quality improvement.
This flow of new knowledge guides our 🖐🏾 hands as therapeutic tools 🛠️ and our clinical decision making. It influences the way we show up for babies, families and for our team.
Ginny McGill, PT, DPT, CNT, NTMTC said it so well at NANT 14 .. "I find that no matter how long I do this, there are things to update and refresh. So, even if you've been doing this work for a really long time, you probably know how much you have to circle back around, and do it again, and again..."
💛 NANT delivers the most up-to-date, NICU-specific education for neonatal therapists across the globe.
What are your learning goals for 2025? Check out the NANT Member hub or the NANT 15 Agenda to exploire the possabilities. We're here to serve YOU!

❓When should neonatal therapists initiate care❓
Listen to Ginny McGill, PT, DPT, CNT, NTMTC, as she responds to this questions of 'When, What, and Why' during NANT 15.
In a nutshell, Ginny shares that neonatal therapists should begin care after birth "because that is when the developmental trajectory changed."
Our NANT Members have on-demand access to instructional resources like Ginny's course on Neonatal Therapy Interventions for the Micro-Preemie: Gaining Confidence & Competence. Check out this lecture and other important topics addressed in your Member Hub today!

🤗 In the NICU— Hugging is Healing 🤗
Oxytocin is a powerful driver of infant-parent attachment. Synchronous exchanges during parental contact drive social interactions and influence an infant's developmental and social reciprocity across the lifespan.
Oxytocin levels in the baby are found to increase during skin-to-skin holding. A decrease in parental stress and anxiety has also been documented post-cuddle.
Interactions during NICU care can also influence gene expression due to the susceptibility of oxytocin receptors.
So remember— 4 hugs to survive, 8 to thrive, and 12 to grow. Be sure to promote hugging in your NICU!
