March 12, 2024: **MCFR Battles Belleview Structure Fire**
At 9:36am, MCFR units were dispatched to the 6800 block of SE 107th St, Belleview, reference a residential structure fire. The 911 caller reported that there was dark smoke coming off of the screened in back porch.
MCFR Belleview Station #18 arrived at the scene within 3 minutes at 9:39am, reporting a working structure fire. E18 Lieutenant established command, passed it off to the next incoming command officer and went into offensive interior attack mode. MCFR Engine 23, Engine 24, Rescue 24, Rescue 530, Tanker 30, and Heavy Rescue 1 arrived minutes later. Rescue 24 established the rapid intervention team and Battalion Chief 1 assumed command. The quick interior attack on the fire stopped it on the back porch, with minimal damage to the house's interior.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters on the scene.
