Today, January 11th, is National Hot Toddy Day! What better time to try this yummy recipe and help us all get over this sickness going around??
Ingredients

Ingredient
2 oz. Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal
½ oz. Simple Syrup
1 Hot Water
1 Lemon Peel
1 Cinnamon Stick (Garnish)

Tools Of The Trade
Jigger
Bar Spoon
Peeler
Hot Toddy Glass

Recipe
Pour 2 oz of Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal and ½ oz of simple syrup into a hot toddy glass.
Top with hot water, lemon peel, and then stir.
Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Ever wondered what makes a wine "vegan"? Is there even such of thing??!! YES!

Vegan wine is wine that has not been made with any animal products or additives during the winemaking process. This includes avoiding animal products in the fining process, which is used to clarify and stabilize wine before bottling.
Some animal products that are used in winemaking include:
Albumin: Egg whites

Gelatin: An animal protein derived from boiling animal parts

Casein: A protein derived from milk

Chitin: A fiber from crustacean shells

Isinglass: A protein from the fish bladder
Vegan wines are made using non-animal fining agents, such as bentonite clay or activated charcoal. Some winemakers also avoid fining the wine altogether, and instead allow the particles to settle naturally to the bottom.
Vegan wine tastes similar to regular wine because the animal products used in winemaking are filtered or evaporated away before bottling.
Choosing vegan wine can be a way to support sustainable practices and make ethical choices.

Looking to pack in the antioxidants and vitamin C and ward off the sickness going around?!
Try this Winter Citrus Tequila Smash Cocktail (easily made into a mocktail by omitting the Tequila). It has blood oranges, pomegranate, spicy ginger and honey... yum!

Ingredients

▢1 teaspoon orange zest
▢1 blood orange, peel removed and quartered (or a mix of your favorite oranges)
▢juice from 1/2 a lime
▢2 tablespoons pomegranate juice
▢1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
▢3-4 fresh mint leaves
▢1-2 tablespoons honey (if needed to sweeten)
▢2 ounces silver tequila
▢sparkling water, for topping
Instructions

1. In a cocktail shaker or glass jar, combine the orange zest, blood orange, lime juice, pomegranate juice, ginger, mint, and honey (if using). Muddle all of the ingredients together, squashing everything to release the juices from the fruit.
2. Add the tequila. Fill with ice and shake until combined. Strain into your prepared glass. Top with sparkling water. Serve with fresh mint. Drink!

We have the perfect batch cocktail to make for your NYE party tonight! The Negroni Sbagliato combines an aperitivo like Campari or Aperol (you choose!), sweet vermouth, prosecco and a few other simple ingredients (like... super simple!!). VOILA!!

Ingredients
¾ cup red aperitivo, such as Campari or Aperol

½ cup sweet vermouth, such as Carpano Antica

¼ cup fresh lemon juice

Ice, for serving

1 bottle (750 milliliters) prosecco brut or other dry sparkling white wine, chilled

Chilled club soda, orange slices, and rosemary sprigs, for serving (optional)

Directions
In a pitcher or punch bowl, combine Campari, vermouth, and lemon juice; refrigerate until ready to serve (or combine in an airtight container and refrigerate up to 3 days).

Just before serving, add ice to pitcher, top with prosecco, and stir once. Pour into ice-filled glasses, top each with a splash of soda, and garnish each with a citrus slice and rosemary sprig; serve immediately.
