Jimmy Groat, beloved father, grandfather, and retired fire chief of Brown City, has suddenly become critically hospitalized at Michigan Medicine. His family, through his daughter Katie Elston, is fundraising for ongoing medical and care expenses.

If you know Jimmy, you know his kind heart, his family oriented life, and his continued care for others. This is seen through his 35 years on the Brown City volunteer fire department (13 years as the fire chief) as well as the devotion of his family (both children and grandchildren). Through the pictures below, you will see his dedication to others at work, in his community, and family.

Jimmy has been hospitalized at Michigan Medicine with a diagnosis of a blood infection and a very rare spinal cord condition. He has undergone surgery with complications, and is looking at potential long term healthcare needs beyond what insurance is capable of providing. This fundraising campaign by his family is needed for these expenses as well as ongoing personal bills being accumulated by Jimmy while he is hospitalized.

If you are unable to donate through the GoFundMe page, please come into our party store and place your donation to Jimmy here! He is a staple in our community and needs our support!
