After 14 years at Bernier’s, today is my last day 😭 Thank you for watching the videos and letting me be my crazy self, it’s going to be so sad not working with my family, seeing you guys and bothering Andrew but you can find me at The Shovel Shop in Easton where hopefully I’ll be making more videos and buying all the delicious craft beer 🍺

As I start a new chapter in my life called Retirement I reflect on hundreds of fond memories at Bernier’s Liquors. It was a bittersweet decision to sell the business that has been part of the Bernier family for over 70 years. It has been quite a ride which was both challenging and rewarding and words alone cannot express my appreciation to my friends and the family members who supported me.

The heart of every business is the employees and customers and we had the best. They helped make Bernier’s Liquors one of the top liquor stores on the South Coast. Without them we would not have been as successful as we were. I cannot thank you enough and will miss seeing and chatting with all of you.

Special thanks to my daughters Jessica and MaryBeth for bringing us to the 21st century with their social media expertise, building our craft business and stepping in to assume management responsibilities, Andrew and Mike for managing and growing our beer and wine departments. And thank you Patty for over 20 years of dedication and keeping the ship sailing! You are all very important to me and I sincerely appreciate what you have done.

And of course I wouldn’t be writing this if it wasn’t for my parents Arthur and Arlene (Ma) Bernier who started the business in 1951. Without them there would never have been a Bernier’s Liquors. I miss you both very much. And if any of you would like to share any of your positive memories of the old and/or new store I’d love to hear them.

Oxford 250 Recap ⬇️

We started the weekend strong being close to the top of the speed charts in all practices. But we all know that everything comes down to the draw on Sunday.
I pulled chip 22 putting us 8th in the second heat. Made it up to 6th and was battling for a transfer spot when the guy behind us decided he wanted it more than we did. Fell back to 9th and ended up finishing 8th. This put us in the Consi. We rolled off 4th and made it up to 2nd locking us into the big show!
We rolled of P31 for the 50th annual Oxford 250. Focused on forward progress working our way through the field up to P7. Went to make a pit stop to take tires on lap 180 and I couldn’t see with the fog and missed the pit stall. Had to go around and try it again. With this mistake we fell back to 22nd. I went back to work and managed to salvage a 11th place finish. Felt like we had a long run car good enough to compete for a win!
I can’t thank my guys enough for bringing me the best car I have ever had to Oxford for this weekend!
