For Quilt Napa Valley, we focus on vineyards with well-draining, low-nutritive soils that stress the vines. The result of these soils is a grape crop with extraordinary concentration of flavor, color, and texture. While the majority of the fruit (70%) comes from the floor of the Napa Valley to achieve the richness and elegance desired, we also relied on some grapes grown at elevation on Napa Valley benchlands and hillsides for a final blend with more structure and complexity than we could have achieved had we used fruit grown solely on the Valley floor.

Conundrum RED

Wine features dark red varietals including Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. With a deep, inky hue almost as dark as blackberries, this wine opens on the nose with scents of chocolatey coffee, sweet oak, fresh plums, floral blossoms and the earthiness of a forest floor. The palate starts off soft, then turns grippy – it peaks with a combination of fruit and textural tannins, before being dominated by the character of ripe berries and plums.
