My heart was warmed at Wal-Mart during lunch.
This gentleman's items were scanned and he was given the total. He looks apologetically back at me and starts taking handfuls of change out of his pockets. He miscounts and starts to get flustered. Gives me a muttered, "I'm so sorry." His hands and voice are shaking. This beautiful cashier takes his hands and dumps all the change on the counter and says, "This is not a problem, honey. We will do this together." He continues to apologize to both of us as we reassure him it's ok. They get his transaction handled and he shuffles away.
I looked at this wonderful woman and said, "Thank-you for being so patient with him."
She shakes her head and replies, "You shouldn't have to thank me, baby. What's wrong with our world is we've forgotten how to love one another."
I want to be more like her.

This Friday morning (2:00AM - 6:30AM) we had computer issues with our Gas and Diesel Pumps, resulting in a shutdown of the pumps and the inability for our Customers to acquire fuel. The problem has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience to our early morning Customers!!!!

To Our Speedy Mart Fuel Customers,

Due to unsustainable fuel pump drive-offs (people leaving without paying for their fuel), Speedy Mart will now require Prepaying for all fuel (either with Credit Card, Cash, or Verification of an Existing In-House Credit Account).

For Customers not using a Credit Card at the pump this may result in an extra trip inside to make payment arrangements with the Cashiers, similar to all other Convenience Stores and Gas Stations.

We regret the inconvenience, but we cannot sustain the continuous “drive-offs”.

For Customers with Existing In-House Credit Accounts, we have suspended any accounts that DO NOT have a current working Phone Number and Point of Contact. This can be quickly resolved by calling our billing department at 910 298 4118.

Again, we regret the inconvenience, but once we get through this transition period, the delays will be minimized.

*edit - please know the changes that are occurring are changes that have been in the works for a long time. In no way are any changes things that Ricky Lynn was not a part of the discussions.

We love our Bright Leaf Hot Dogs at the Speedy Mart at Thomas & Horne Oil Company, Inc. // Exciting update: we are now steaming our hot dog buns, just like in the old days (we had to stop during Covid madness). So, they should be warm and soft, just like when you were a kid!!!

We are seeking Full-time and Part-time convenience store personnel.

Need 2 full-time Cashiers.
One for 12AM - 8AM Shift
One for 4PM - 12AM Shift

Need 2 part time Cashiers.
Shifts will be "As needed"

Cashiers will be responsible for maintaining their cash-register-till, charging and receiving payments for all merchandise, verifying and authorizing to charge merchandise, store cleaning, and merchandise stocking. Other duties as needed during shift. Will be courteous to all co-workers, vendors, and customers. Will be dependable and must have reliable transportation to work.

Need 2 part time Stock/Maintenance Personnel
After school and weekends

Stock/Maintenance Personnel will be responsible for stocking and organizing merchandise on shelves, taking out trash, picking up litter, cleaning, and other duties are required. Perfect for student looking to pickup up 3 or 4 hours after school and 5 or 6 hours on the weekend.

Daddy Update, 10/19:

Ricky Lynn is out of surgery. Old blood from the original bleed coagulated in the area and also absorbed fluids which is why showed an increase. It was not a new bleed. He said it was very thick. It was removed and now we wait.

For cards: now in room 511 Neuro ICU.

Marilyn has asked that we ask our Speedy Mart at Thomas & Horne Oil Company, Inc. friends, family, staff, customers, vendors, and colleagues to please pray for "Ricky Lynn". Send your best wishes, good vibes, and positive thoughts as "Ricky Lynn" will be under going major surgery tomorrow morning.

We are keeping everyone as updated as possible. If you have not been personally contacted, please do not be offended. It gets a bit overwhelming trying to make sure we touch each person that has asked about him. However, that makes our hearts full knowing how much people love him.

So, whether you know him as Ricky, Ricky Lynn, Rick, Slick, Slick Rick, Pete, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Rick: please keep him in your prayers.
