Looking for part-time help as cashier at My Store Turtle River formally 71 Mart. Evening shift from 2 to 10. Will train. Includes cashiering and some deli. Must be 18 years old. For more information stop in or pick up an application at the store. Start the new year working in a friendly atmosphere.

I’ve had people ask me how I get some of the meats I cook so tender.
i.e. Chicken Breast , Pork Chops, Steaks, Salmon… just about anything. BEST way ever is..
BAKING SODA!!!! (maybe some know this already) if you don’t you’re missing out.
Once you’ve washed your meat , lightly sprinkle baking soda on both sides. (I either poke the box with a fork to shake or transfer to a shaker to make easier)
Let it sit for 10 minutes. No longer- RINSE OFF !!! Then pat dry (I use paper towels) cook/season as you normally would. CHANGES EVERYTHING!!
Oh my gosh the first time I made sweet and sour chicken, it melted in my mouth, whereas many times the chicken just didn’t seem tender “enough” for my liking.

This will be my last post. As some of you already know we no longer own the store. It has been sold and is under new management .The new name is “My Store- Turtle River”. After 41 years we have decided to slow down and pursue other interests. for right now I will stay on part time. We want to thank you all for your support through out the years and hope you will continue support the new owners. It has been a privilege serve this community.

Update on 71 Mart happenings.

Because of the coronavirus we have taken precautions to help keep everyone safe. We have put up the plexiglass and sanitize everything as much as possible. Our hours right now are from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM

Fishing opener and Mother’s Day are just around the corner. Remember to come in or go online to get your fishing license. Right now we have rainbow and crappie minnows and wax worms with more bait to follow.

We have also started up our Broaster to go Chicken. Call 218-586-3420 to have a bucket of chicken hot and ready for you to pick up. Limited hours so call ahead first.

To all of our 71 Mart customers. Because of situation we are in right now about the coronavirus we have cut back our help and decided to also cut back store hours. We will now open at 6:30 and close at 6:30 every day until things get better. Sorry for the inconvenience but hopefully this will all end soon.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from the 71 Mart. We are open today from 8 AM till 1 PM for any of you who have forgotten something. (Or just need to get away for a few minutes.) Free cup of coffee.

Looks like spring is finally getting here. It has been a tough winter. But it is time to start thinking about getting ready by purchasing your new fishing licenses, we also have bait and a select line of tackle.
Get the grill out and ready to fire up and cook some of those mouthwatering Stittsworth Brats. Right now we have a couple of flavors and will be getting more as the weather warms up. We also have Stittsworth bacon, beef sticks, prime rib dried beef strips, pepper stick and cheddar cheese curds.
