Our family-style Community Pancake Breakfast is back by popular demand! From 8 a.m.–2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, enjoy all-you-can-eat buttermilk pancakes with farmer-direct New York maple syrup. Come hungry!

Add eggs or breakfast protein for $5 each.

Both community and private seating available. Most of our standard breakfast offerings will be available. Sorry, no Corned Beef Hash or Breakfast Burrito during this event — we’ll need the griddle space for PANCAKES!

“This snow reminds me of the winter of 1958!” The market was open in spite of a little snowstorm, and yes, we are OPEN today. Breakfast until 11:30 a.m. and lunch/dinner after.

It might be a little snowy out there, but we're OPEN! Stop in for brunch and treat yourself to the Bruce Deluxe Sandwich: Two fried eggs, bacon, grilled tomato and melted cheddar jack on sourdough. Happy New Year! Nelson’s Market is open until 10 p.m. today with extended brunch until 2 p.m.

Stop in for a traditional New Year’s special: Black-Eyed Peas with Smoked Ham & Collard Greens, served with cornbread for $17. Available all day until the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. or while supplies last!

This dish is a symbol of prosperity for the new year — peas represent coins, pork for abundance, greens are paper money and the cornbread is gold. Cheers to 2025!

Christmas Day: Closed

The Monte Cristo is back! This delicious breakfast and brunch special includes grilled ham, turkey breast and melted Swiss cheese layered between two slices of our brioche French toast, served with your choice of real maple syrup, jam or honey mustard for $17.50. Yum!

Have you noticed the decorations adorning the gazebo at Nelson's Market? They were placed there by the family of Ruben Anaya, in his memory.

Gone, but not forgotten, Ruben was a neighbor, friend and employee of Nelson’s who touched every inch of this corner through his work on the property, with many of his efforts still visible today. He is also remembered for having worked for folks throughout York neighborhood, helping with their gardens, laying in brick patios and doing various jobs at Rock Hill and Harriet Spanel (then known as Franklin) Park. The gazebo at Nelson’s Market was dedicated in Ruben’s memory after his untimely passing in 2011, with the following inscription in a paving stone: When you pass by, remember Ruben Anaya, fine human being.

We’ve had some great times during Election 2024 with our friends and neighbors at Nelson’s Market. We might not all agree on everything, but based on crowd response to the debates we hosted here, we have a pretty good idea who would win this presidential election if it were put up to a vote of our patrons! With this in mind, we thought many of you would enjoy this photo of some of the Nelson’s crew (and York neighbors!) door-knocking to get out the vote in Savannah, Georgia.

York neighborhood has a history of standing up for what we believe in. This is an incredibly close presidential election that will be decided by votes outside of Washington state. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make a difference! And you don’t need to go to a swing state to help.

With only a couple days left before the polls close, now is the most crucial time to take action to make the change you want to see. Find out what you can do during the final days of the election at https://events.democrats.org.
